abstract: one the most important problems in recent sensitive loads is the quality of voltage. for this challenge custom power devices are used in distribution systems. dynamic voltage restorer (dvr) is a custom power device that improves voltage, decrease power distortion, filter harmonics and balance distributed generations (dgs) with low voltage distribution system. in this paper, a new algo...

Spatial terms such as right are potentially ambiguous because they can refer to different regions of space when defined by competing reference frames (e.g., my right within a relative reference frame versus an object's right within an intrinsic reference frame). In such situations, previous research has suggested that multiple reference frames are initially activated, followed by inhibition of ...

Multi-frame rate systems decouple viewing from rendering in an asynchronous pipeline. Multiple GPUs can be used as frame sources, while a primary GPU is responsible for viewing and display update. Conventionally, the last rendering result is used for display. However, modern GPUs are equipped with a fairly large amount of memory which allows frames to be cached in video memory. As long as the d...

Knowledge of space is inherently relative. Therefore, in order to make use of spatial knowledge, it must be encoded with respect to a particular perspective so that values such distance and angle have meaning. This stored perspective is known as the reference frame, and many judgments about remembered space are calculated based on this perspective. Past work using a single layout of objects has...

The human visual system can represent an object's spatial structure with respect to multiple frames of reference. It can also utilize multiple reference frames to mentally transform such representations. Recent studies have shown that performance on some mental transformations is not equivalent: Imagined object rotations tend to be more difficult than imagined viewer rotations. We reviewed seve...

In this paper, we present an algorithm to simultaneously estimate multiple-frame motions and filter image sequences. The relative motion dk(x) between the reference frame s(x) and the kth frame s(x-dk(x)) in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) is estimated using the maximum-likelihood (ML) principle. The reference frame is also filtered in the linear minimum mean square error (...

The formation control of multiple vehicles using a perceptive frame is studied in this paper. The method is applied to multiple mobile robots. The controller design and lab experiments are shown in the paper. Some useful strategies of coordination are implemented in a perceptive frame by reference projections. The feature of the coordination is illustrated by experiments of three mobile robots.
