To determine the relation between scintigraphic regions of stress-induced ischaemia and subsequent myocardial infarction, a select group of 21 patients was investigated. Each patient had undergone stress perfusion scintigraphy before myocardial infarction was recorded. After acute infarction, thallium-201 perfusion scintigraphy was performed in 16 patients (76%) and 99mTc (stannous) pyrophospha...

The short half-life positron emitter 13N, as labeled ammonia (13NH4+), was evaluated as a myocardial imaging agent. Regional myocardial uptake of 13NH4 correlated with the distribution of labeled microspheres in experimental myocardial infarction. Using intravenous 13NH4+, myocardial scintigraphy was performed in 85 cardiac patients and 27 normal subjects. Ninety-five scintigrams were suitable ...

The aim of this study was to investigate gamma radiation-induced oxidative damage in erythrocytes after 201Tl myocardial perfusion scintigraphy. Twenty patients (8 women and 12 men) who performed 201Tl myocardial perfusion scintigraphy were included in this study. The blood samples were taken from patients just before, 1 hour after and three hours after injection of the radiopharmaceutical. Mal...

introduction: the purpose of this study is to assess the integrated role of scintigraphy by tc99m mibi in diagnosis of parathyroid adenoma and its impacts on the myocardium, and to evaluate whether myocardium perfusion gated spect study could be a complementary routine workup for patient with positive parathyroid adenoma on tc99m mibi parathyroid scan. methods: rest myocardium perfusion gated s...

A case of congenital absence of the left pulmonary artery, in which perfusion of the affected lung was accomplished via an arterial shunt from the circumflex coronary artery, is discussed. Data from myocardial perfusion scintigraphy showed that myocardial perfusion was unaffected by the existence of the shunt, largely because the flow through the shunt occurred mainly during systole.

Introduction: Differentiating between ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM) and idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (IDCM) is important as coronary revascularization can improve prognosis in the ischemic subgroup. Due to inherent problems of coronary angiography in patients with depressed ejection fraction (EF) introducing a noninvasive tool to diagnose those who will benefit from angiography seems...

Introduction: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) belongs to the very heterogeneous group of cardiomyopathies. This study aimed myocardial perfusion abnormalities on scintigraphy and assess risk sudden death from ventricular arrhythmia in hereditary sarcomeric HCM. Patients Methods: is a retrospective prospective descriptive over 18 months (January 01, 2021, July 31, 2022) records patients with d...

BACKGROUND Myocardial reperfusion is pivotal to the prognosis of patients with acute myocardial infarction. In these patients, coronary flow is generally assessed by angiography and tissue perfusion by tracer scintigraphy. This study was designed to examine whether magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) provides information on myocardial perfusion and damage beyond that supplied by angiography and th...

OBJECTIVES The purposes of this study were to test the specificity of dipyridamole myocardial perfusion scintigraphy in patients with permanent ventricular pacing (PVP) and to evaluate coronary blood flow and reserve in these patients. BACKGROUND Permanent ventricular pacing is associated with exercise perfusion defects on myocardial scintigraphy in the absence of coronary artery disease (CAD...
