The cone electroretinograms (ERGs) to different chromatic stimuli were recorded in myopic subjects. Ganzfeld color flashes under bright white background illumination were used to elicit short-wavelength-sensitive (S-), and mixed long-(L-) and middle-(M-) wavelength-sensitive cone ERGs. Nineteen subjects with mild myopia (between -3.0 and -6.0 D), 12 subjects with high myopia (greater than -6.25...

(with DF = 1 for F = P). As explained in [2], essential properties required on the operators DF are ”locality” and ”computability”. At each face F of P, the operator DF should depend only of the translation class modulo Z of the normal cone No(P, F ) to P at a generic point of F (if F is of codimension k, the normal cone is an affine cone of dimension k). In particular if P is an integral polyt...

PURPOSE To compare local cone and rod system function in patients with retinitis pigmentosa (RP) using electrophysiological and psychophysical techniques. METHODS Cone-mediated multifocal electroretinograms (M-ERGs), cone system threshold visual fields, rod-mediated M-ERGs, and rod system threshold visual fields were measured in seven patients with RP. RESULTS All the patients had normal co...

this paper addresses the problem of testing simple hypotheses about the mean of a bivariate normal distribution with identity covariance matrix against restricted alternatives. the lrts and their power functions for such types of hypotheses are derived. furthermore, through some elementary calculus, it is shown that the power function of the lrt satisfies certain monotonicity and symmetry prope...

Dark adaptation and the rise of cone flicker threshold (25 Hz) during dark adaptation were measured psychophysically in three patients with fundus flavimaculatus. The dark adaptation curve showed a delayed rod-cone break but a normal final rod threshold in all these patients. However, the rise of cone flicker threshold during dark adaptation was not delayed and also reached a normal final value...

Cone-valued lower semicontinuous maps are used to generalize Cristi-Kirik’s fixed point theorem to Cone metric spaces. The cone under consideration is assumed to be strongly minihedral and normal. First we prove such a type of fixed point theorem in compact cone metric spaces and then generalize to complete cone metric spaces. Some more general results are also obtained in quasicone metric spaces.

PURPOSE We studied the correlation between outer nuclear layer (ONL) thickness and cone density in normal eyes and eyes with retinitis pigmentosa (RP). METHODS Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) scans were acquired using a displaced pupil entry position of the scanning beam to distinguish Henle's fiber layer from the ONL in 20 normal eyes (10 subjects) and 12 eyes with RP (...

Earlier we reported that Rayleigh matches made by males with normal color vision fall into distinct groups, and proposed that this behavior reflects an X-chromosome linked polymorphism in the spectral positioning of cone pigments (Neitz & Jacobs, 1986). In the present experiments two different color matches were obtained from each of 60 color normal males. Comparisons of the data from these two...

The cellular basis of the hypersensitivity of the S (blue) cone system in patients with enhanced S cone syndrome was examined by analyzing ERGs from three patients. The patients had large alpha-waves in response to the blue and white flashes. These alpha-waves were shown to be driven nearly entirely by the S cones. Although these S cone alpha-waves were 4-6 times the size of the normal L/M cone...
