The pair NaBH4-TMEDA and catalytic PdCl2(PPh3)2 in THF at room temperature is a mild and efficient system for the hydrodebromination of alkenyl bromides, providing a facile reduction procedure that allows completing the process advantageously, leading from aldehydes to (E)-alkenes.

Reaction of a [2]catenane with Pd(OAc)2 binds both macrocycles to the metal, locking them in position; treatment with PdCl2, however, results in coordination of only one ring, producing a half-turn in the relative orientation of the [2]catenane components in both solution and the solid state.

A series of supramolecular assemblies of the type [Ru(L-L)2(L'-L)MX2)](n+) are reported where L-L is 2,2'-bipyridine (bipy), 4,4'-di-tetra-butyl-bipyridine (tbbipy) or 4,4'-diethoxycarbonyl-2,2'-bipyridine (dceb), L-L' is tetrapyrido[3,2-a:2',3'-c:3'',2''-h:2''',3'''-j]phenazine (tpphz), 2,2':5',2''-terpyridine (2,5-bpp), 2,2':6',2''-terpyridine, (2,6-bpp), 2,5-di(pyridine-2-yl)pyrazine (2,5-dp...

In this work, palladium (II) chloride-supported-N-(dipyridine-2-ylmethyl)-3-(silica-magnetite)propan-1-amine (nano-Fe3O4@SiO2@dipy@PdCl2) as a new nanostructured catalyst was prepared and its structure completely studied by different techniques and then successfully tested on Heck and Suzuki reactions.

Glycine, as a kind of commercially available and inexpensive ligand, is used to prepare an air-stable and water-soluble catalyst for the Suzuki-Miyaura reaction in our study. In the presence of 0.1% [PdCl2(NH2CH2COOH)2] as the catalyst, extremely excellent catalytic activity towards the Suzuki-Miyaura coupling of aryl halides containing the carboxyl group with various aryl boronic acids is obse...

Palladium-catalyzed ring-opening reactions of cyclopropanated 7-oxabenzonorbornadiene derivatives using alcohol nucleophiles were investigated. The optimal conditions were found to be 10 mol % PdCl2(CH3CN)2 in methanol, offering yields up to 92%. The reaction was successful using primary, secondary and tertiary alcohol nucleophiles and was compatible with a variety of substituents on cyclopropa...

A facile large-scale synthesis of the “push–pull”-substituted ligand bis(diethylamino)(pentafluorophenyl)phosphane is reported. A selenophosphorane as well as complexes with CuI and PdCl2, can be formed almost quantitatively from suitable starting materials. The PdII complex shows a square-planar coordination with significant distortions of the Cl–Pd–Cl moiety in the solid state. In contrast, t...

In the title compound, [PdCl2(C13H14N2S)], the Pd(II) ion is coordinated by two N atoms of the chelating bidentate ligand and two chloride anions, giving rise to a distorted square-planar geometry. The methyl-substituted thio-phene arm and the pyridine ring are connected to the metal cation through N atoms to form a six-membered chelate ring with a boat conformation, making the complex stable.

A novel and convenient protocol for the formation of amides via palladium-catalyzed N-dealkylative carbonylation of alkyl tertiary amines has been developed. In the presence of PdCl2(PhCN)2, CuO, PhCN and CO, a range of substituents on both aryl iodides and alkyl tertiary amines were compatible with the reaction to afford a series of N,N-disubstituted amides in moderate to excellent yields.

Nowadays, hydrogen has attracted significant attention as a next generation clean energy source. Hydrogen is highly flammable, so detection of hydrogen gas is required. Gold nanoparticle based localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) is an advanced and powerful sensing technique, which is well known for its high sensitivity to surrounding refractive index change in the local environment. We p...
