Ethanolic extract of leaves of Elaeocarpus ganitrus was analyzed for their total antioxidant capacity, reducing power, metal chelating, ABTS+ (2, 2-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonate) radical scavenging and hydroxyl radical scavenging activities. The extract at 500 ?g/ml showed maximum Iron chelating activity (76.70%) followed by the scavenging of the ABTS+ radical (55.77%) at the sa...

Antioxidant activity of methanolic extract of Abutilon indicum leaves was investigated for its free radical scavenging activity by determining the nitric oxide and superoxide radical scavenging activity. Maximum scavenging of nitric oxide and superoxide radical found were 28.74 % and 49. 62 % respectively at 250 μg/ml concentration.

research works proposed that radical scavenging activity of flavonoids is due to ring b, andthe remaining part of the molecule can be disregarded. thus the objective of this work is toobserve whether hydroxytoluenes account the radical scavenging activity of flavonoid and toestablish structural requirements for their activity (as they showed appreciable activity) andelucidate a comprehensive me...

A series of 3,4-dihydroisoquinoline-3-carboxylic acid derivatives were synthesised and tested for their free-radical scavenging activity using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical (DPPH·), 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) radical (ABTS·+), superoxide anion radical (O2·-) and nitric oxide radical (·NO) assays. We also studied d-amino acid oxidase (DAAO), acetylcholinestera...

The free radical scavenging potential of the leaves of A. squamosa was studied by using different antioxidant models of screening. The ethanolic extract at 1000 microg/ml showed maximum scavenging of the radical cation, 2,2-azinobis- (3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulphonate) (ABTS) observed upto 99.07% followed by the scavenging of the stable radical 1,1-diphenyl, 2-picryl hydrazyl (DPPH) (89.77 %)...
