An optimized integration scheme for calculating vibrational-rotational partition functions by the Fourier path-integral method, as presented in the previous paper [R. Q. Topper and D. G. Truhlar, J. Chem. Phys. 97, 3647 (1992)] is applied to a three-dimensional test case involving the coupled vibrational and rotational motions of a diatomic HCI molecule in Cartesian coordinates. Converged parti...

Singularity of a robot manipulator is one of the obstacles that influences its capabilities. This paper discusses constrained and allowable rotational motion resulting from lost translational freedom when the robot is singular. A convenient method and simple and clear expression to determine the allowable rotational axes and the subspace that they form, under Jacobian singularity, is analyzed a...

MMTV-LTR sequences -190/-45 position a histone octamer both in vivo and in vitro. Experimental evidence suggested that nucleosome rotational positioning is determined by the DNA sequence itself. We developed an algorithm that is able to predict the most favorable path of a given DNA sequence over a histone octamer, based on rotational preferences of different dinucleotides. Our analysis shows t...

The performance of nanobearings constructed from double walled carbon nanotubes is considered to be crucially dependent on the initial rotational speed. Wearless rotation ceases for a nanobearing operating beyond a certain angular velocity. We propose a new design of nanobearings by manipulation of double walled carbon nanotubes leading to a flanged structure which possesses a built-in hindranc...

A narrowband, time-asymmetric probe pulse is introduced into the hybrid femtosecond/picosecond rotational coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (fs/ps RCARS) technique to provide accurate and precise single-shot, high-repetition-rate gas-phase thermometric measurements. This narrowband pulse-generated by inserting a Fabry-Pérot étalon into the probe-pulse beam path-enables frequency-domain dete...

We present a comparative study of the rotational characteristics of various molecule-doped He clusters using quantum Monte Carlo techniques. The theoretical conclusions obtained from both zero and finite temperature Monte Carlo studies confirm the presence of two different dynamical regimes that correlate with the magnitude of the rotational constant of the molecule, i.e., fast or slow rotors. ...

Abstract In this study, we evaluate a circular path-following control for vehicle. For vehicle to follow path, rotational and expansionary coordinate transformations using the time-state form of system is useful. However, an undershoot response occurs in initial some conditions. derive conditions with occurrence clarify avoiding it. The analysis performed via numerical simulations model.

Recently, a distance function was defined on the face-centered cubic and body-centered cubic grids by combining weights and neighbourhood sequences. These distances share many properties with traditional path-based distance functions, such as the city-block distance, but are less rotational dependent. We present conditions for metricity and algorithms to compute the distances.
