We explore the application of a Deep Structured Similarity Model (DSSM) to ranking in lexical simplification. Our results show that the DSSM can effectively capture fine-grained features to perform semantic matching when ranking substitution candidates, outperforming the stateof-the-art on two standard datasets used for the task.
Nowadays, society, research and industries are faced with a continuously growing amount of information available as structured or unstructured data presenting semantic meanings. In the scope of this work, data structures based on semantic specifications are investigated concluding in an approach for receiving customized semantic data related to a certain domain of interest. As ontologies, origi...
Service oriented environments consist of business and electronic services. Business services encapsulate core business logic and activities whereas electronic services support the operation of business services by means of software applications. In environments with a large number of business and electronic services an approach for selecting electronic services that satisfy certain business ser...
Whether attention to a local part of a visual display can prevent access to semantic information in form matching tasks with objects was studied. A first picture containing a line segment (the reference) was followed by 2 lateral objects also containing a line segment (a target and a distractor). Participants matched the line segments according to either their orientation or color. Effects of s...
Managing semantic heterogeneity is a complex task. One solution involves matching like terms to each other. We view Match as an operator that takes two graph-like structures (e.g., concept hierarchies or ontologies) and returns a mapping between the nodes of the graphs that correspond semantically to each other. State of the art matching systems (e.g., COMA, Cupid) perform well for many real wo...
The job of discovering appropriate code snippets against a natural language query is an important task for software developers. Appropriate retrieval increases productivity and quality as well. In contrast to traditional information techniques, search necessitates bridging the semantic breach between programming languages fragments. Deep neural networks codes have recently been hot topic in res...
Address is a structured description used to identify specific place or point of interest, and it provides an effective way locate people objects. The standardization Chinese name address occupies important position in the construction smart city. Traditional specification technology often adopts methods based on text similarity rule bases, which cannot handle complex, missing, redundant informa...
