Privacy-oriented cryptocurrencies, like Zcash or Monero, provide fair transaction anonymity and confidentiality, but lack important features compared to fully public systems, Ethereum. Specifically, supporting assets of multiple types providing a mechanism atomically exchange them, which is critical for e.g. decentralized finance (DeFi), challenging in the private setting. By combining insights...

DYSREGULATION OF ENERGY BALANCE is a primary constituent in the etiology of obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus, which is manifested by altered metabolic homeostasis and insulin resistance in a variety of tissues, including brain, liver, and skeletal muscle. The discovery of the AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK), an evolutionarily conserved serine/ threonine kinase that acts a master sensor ...

Non-interactive arguments enable a prover to convince a verifier that a statement is true. Recently there has been a lot of progress both in theory and practice on constructing highly efficient non-interactive arguments with small size and low verification complexity, so-called succinct non-interactive arguments (SNARGs) and succinct non-interactive arguments of knowledge (SNARKs). Many constru...

The Open Vote Network is a self-tallying decentralized e-voting protocol suitable for boardroom elections. Currently, it has two Ethereum-based implementations: the first, by McCorry et al., scalability issue since all computations are performed on-chain. second implementation, Seifelnasr solves this partially assigning part of heavy to an off-chain untrusted administrator in verifiable manner....

It is known that for every nonorientable surface there are infinitely many (large) snarks that can be polyhedrally embedded on that surface. We take a dual approach to the embedding of snarks on the Klein bottle, and investigate edge-colorings of 6-chromatic triangulations of the Klein bottle. In the process, we discover the smallest snarks that can be polyhedrally embedded on the Klein bottle....

A condition on cubic graphs G1 and G2 is presented, which implies that a dot product G1 · G2 exists, which has an embedding in the torus. Using this condition it is proved that for every positive integer n a dot product of n copies of the Petersen graph exists, which can be embedded in the torus. This disproves a conjecture of Watkins and Tinsley and answers a question by Mohar.

A snark is a cubic graph with no proper 3-edge-colouring. In 1996, Nedela and Škoviera proved the following theorem: LetG be a snark with an k-edge-cut, k ≥ 2, whose removal leaves two 3-edgecolourable componentsM and N . Then bothM and N can be completed to two snarks M̃ and Ñ of order not exceeding that of G by adding at most κ(k) vertices, where the number κ(k) only depends on k. The known va...

Pervasive technologies are increasingly being developed and used outdoors in different and innovative ways. However, designing user experiences for outdoor environments presents many different and unforeseen challenges compared with indoor settings. We report on two different projects, one held indoors and one held outdoors, that were created to explore the use of various tangible technologies ...
