Recent improvements in geometric modelling systems hove led to the need for more reliable end highly automated softwore for machine tool path generation. Current machining algorithms require that any port geometric information which cannot be determined from the modelling system be supplied by the user. Much geometric information Is needed i f the model used to represent the pert is incomplete....

Purpose: Given an intersection-free mesh surface S , we introduce a method to thicken S into a solid H located at one side of S . By such a surface-to-solid conversion operation, industrial users are able to fabricate a designed (or reconstructed) surface by rapid prototyping. Design/methodology/approach: In this paper, we first investigate an implicit representation of the thickened solid H ac...

background: the monte carlo method is the most accurate method for simulation of radiation therapy equipment. the linear accelerators are currently the most widely used machines in radiation therapy centers. methods: in this work, a monte carlo modelling of the siemens oncor linear accelerator in 6 mv and 18 mv beams was performed. the results of simulation were validated by measurements in wat...

In order to model thixoforming processes, previous papers presented a thermo-mechanical onephase modelling. This first version of constitutive model revealed several limitations: the model could not degenerate properly to pure solid or liquid behaviour neither to free solid suspensions. The aim of this paper was to propose solutions to overcome these limitations.

We consider the problem of visualizing 3D objects deened as a Minkowski addition or subtraction of elementary objects. It is shown that such visualizations can be obtained by using techniques from computer graphics such as ray tracing and Constructive Solid Geometry. Applications of the method are found in solid modelling and shape description.

This paper deals with modelling point sets with attributes. A point set in a geometric space of an arbitrary dimension is a geometric model of a real object or process under consideration. An attribute is a mathematical model of a real object or process property of an arbitrary nature (material, photometric, physical, statistical, etc.) defined for any point of the point set. We provide a surve...
