We propose a new method of tangential redistribution of points by controlling the tangential motion in curvature driven flow of plane curves. The tangential velocity is designed by taking into account the shape of curves. It is based on combination of method of asymptotic uniform redistribution and the tangential velocity in crystalline curvature flow equations.

Through the Loewner equation, real-valued driving functions generate sets called hulls. We analyze that approach 0 at least as fast \(a (T-t)^r\) \(t \to T\), where \(r \in (0, 1/2)\), and show corresponding hulls have tangential behavior time \(T\). also prove a result about trace existence apply it to driven by \(a(T-t)^r\) for (0,1/2)\) curve.

In axial compressors, the unsteady flow caused by interaction between dynamic and static cascades will make moving vanes subject to periodic forces increase risk of high-cycle fatigue fractures. this study, an “S”-type bowed guide vane was designed a 1.5-stage compressor model established. For five with different bending coefficients, numerical simulation carried out under design conditions nea...

Two-dimensional, numerical models of a linear fault embedded within a linear elastic medium show the generation of off-fault tensile failure that results from inelastic slip along the fault. We explore quasistatic models with slip-weakening friction to assess the effects of spatially and temporally variable friction on the damage patterns. Tensile fractures form where tangential normal stresses...

We studied the spatial organization of directionally selective neurons in the cortical middle temporal visual area (area MT) of the Cebus monkey. We recorded neuronal activity from multielectrode arrays as they were stepped through area MT. The set of recording sites in each array penetration described a plane parallel to the cortical layers. At each recording site, we determined the preferred ...

Introduction: Liquid water has been inferred to erupt in Europa's geologic past [e.g. 1] and a mixture of water vapor and ice is currently erupting from Enceladus' south polar region [2] whose source may be a liquid water ocean. Water confined to a subsurface ocean faces two impediments in reaching the surface. First, it is negatively buoyant with respect to ice. Second, it requires a pathway t...

Background Morel-Lavallee lesions (MLLs) are rare internal degloving injuries typically caused by blunt traumatic injuries and most commonly occur around the hips and in association with pelvic or acetabular fractures. MLL is often overlooked in the setting of poly-trauma; therefore, clinicians must maintain a high degree of suspicion and be familiar with the management of such injuries, especi...

AIM Compound elevated fracture of the skull is an unusual variety of fracture of the cranial vault that has been rarely described in the currently available literature. The authors describe three such patients with post-traumatic compound elevated skull fracture. The pertinent literature is reviewed, the injury mechanism is highlighted and the management issues are discussed in detail. CASE D...
