We present a crossed beam study of the title reaction over the collision energy range from 0.47 to 1.20 eV, over which the dynamics of particle transfer are direct. The data include vibrational state populations and vibrational-state dependent angular distributions. Over the entire collision energy range, the product vibrational state distributions are inverted, and the extent of that inversion...

We report the first spectroscopic observation of and vibrational predissociation dynamics for ArBr(2). Measurements are reported for the linear and T-shaped isomers with time and frequency resolution near the Fourier limit of a 15 ps pulse. For the T-shaped isomer, the Ar-Br(2) bond energy D(0) for the B state, nu(')=19, is found to be 200 cm(-1), yielding a D(0)(X) value of 213 cm(-1). Product...

Accurate, experimental rotational-vibrational energy levels determined via the MARVEL (Measured Active Rotational-Vibrational Energy Levels) algorithm and published recently for the symmetric-top (14)NH3 molecule in J. Quant. Spectrosc. Radiat. Transfer, 2015, 116, 117-130 are analyzed to unravel the promoting and inhibiting effects of vibrations and rotations on the tunneling splittings of the...

in this paper, surface and piezoelectric effects on the vibration behavior of nanowires (nws) are investigated by using a timoshenko beam model. the electric field equations and the governing equations of motion for the piezoelectric nws are derived with the consideration of surface effects. by the exact solution of the governing equations, an expression for the natural frequencies of nws with ...

Recently, nuclear vibrational contribution signatures in two-dimensional (2D) electronic spectroscopy have attracted considerable interest, in particular as regards interpretation of the oscillatory transients observed in light-harvesting complexes. These transients have dephasing times that persist for much longer than theoretically predicted electronic coherence lifetime. As a plausible expla...

A model Hamiltonian for photoinduced homogeneous proton-coupled electron transfer reactions is presented, and the equations of motion for the reduced density matrix elements in an electron-proton vibronic basis are derived. This formalism enables a detailed analysis of the proton vibrational dynamics, as well as the dynamics of the electronic state populations, following photoexcitation. The ap...

In this paper surface energy and elastic medium effects on torsional vibrational behavior of nanorods are studied. The surface elasticity theory is used to consider the surface energy effects and the elastic medium is modeled as torsional springs attached to the nanorod. At the next step, Hamilton’s principle is utilized to derive governing equations and boundary conditions. Then, with the aid ...

A novel chiral open-framework fluoroaluminophosphate [C4N3H16][Al6P3O12F6(OH)6] was hydrothermally synthesized using diethylenetriamine as a structure-directing agent. The significant enantiomeric excess of the bulk product was confirmed by the solid state vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) spectrum.

We have characterized the vibrational predissociation (VP) of the Ne(2)Br(2) van der Waals complex using time- and frequency-resolved pump-probe spectroscopy. After exciting Br(2) within the complex to a vibrational level 16<or=nu(')<or=23 in the B state, we follow the flow of halogen vibrational energy to the van der Waals modes in real time by recording the time-dependent behavior of Ne(2)Br(...

This study tested the sensitivity of the tupelo leafminer, Antispila nysaefoliella, to vibrational cues and whether their unique behaviors, first reported by Low (2008), may be elicited by the frequencies matching those of parasitic wasps. In the tick behavior, a larva ticks its abdomen back and forth rhythmically, and in the rattle behavior, the larva rattles its abdomen in short rapid pulses....
