Reconstructing and representing large-scale 3D scenes from image sequence have many important applications, including airborne or ground video surveillance for moving target extraction, automated 3D urban scene construction, airborne/ground traffic survey, and image-based modelling and rendering. To deal with two major challenges in large-scale 3D modelling huge amount of data and intensive com...

Several experiments combining analog design with digital parametric design have been presented, where the relationship between material properties and the designed shape of an architectural element play an important role. This approach allows to create digital material formations or to structure freeform surfaces, control their tectonics, through parametric modulation. Similar research tasks we...

3D face recognition is an open field. In this paper we present a method for 3D facial recognition based on Principal Components Analysis. The method uses a relatively large number of facial measurements and ratios and yields reliable recognition. We also highlight our approach to sensor development for fast 3D model acquisition and automatic facial feature extraction.

In this paper we propose a pipeline for highly automatic building reconstruction based on 3D point clouds. 3D building models are of great interest for many applications including city planning, navigation, emergency response and tourism and their reconstruction has been intensively studied. It is, however, still a challenge to minimize manual intervention and to achieve highly automated proces...

Goaland agent-oriented models have emerged as a way to capture stakeholder and organizational goals in a complex enterprise. The complexity of such models leads to a need for systematic procedures to enable users to evaluate and compare the alternative actions and solutions expressed in models. Many existing approaches focus on automated procedures, limiting the ability of the user to intervene...

No wonder you activities are, reading will be always needed. It is not only to fulfil the duties that you need to finish in deadline time. Reading will encourage your mind and thoughts. Of course, reading will greatly develop your experiences about everything. Reading geometric modeling and reasoning of human centered freeform products is also a way as one of the collective books that gives man...

Methods to represent and exchange parts consisting of Functionally Graded Material (FGM) for Solid Freeform Fabrication (SFF) with Local Composition Control (LCC) are evaluated based on their memory requirements. Data structures for representing FGM objects as heterogeneous models are described and analyzed, including a voxel-based structure, finite-element mesh-based approach, and the extensio...

Modeling, design and fabrication of tissue scaffolds with intricate architecture, porosity and pore size for desired tissue properties presents a challenge in tissue engineering. This paper will present the details of our development in the design and fabrication of the interior architecture of scaffolds using a novel design approach. The interior architecture design (IAD) approach seeks to gen...
