We have developed a semiautomatic procedure based on a sequential injection method for 90Sr/90Y determination that allows their radiochemical separation in about 30 min. The method has been tested using 90Sr/90Y solutions with activities lower than 12 Bq. The source is eluted in a pH = 6.5 medium through a MnO2-impregnated cotton filter, where 9OY is preconcentrated in preference by adsorption....

BACKGROUND Coincidence imaging of low-abundance yttrium-90 (90Y) internal pair production by positron emission tomography with integrated computed tomography (PET/CT) achieves high-resolution imaging of post-radioembolization microsphere biodistribution. Part 2 analyzes tumor and non-target tissue dose-response by 90Y PET quantification and evaluates the accuracy of tumor 99mTc macroaggregated ...

OBJECTIVE Pancreatic cancer is an aggressive tumor and the prognosis remains poor. Therefore, development of more effective therapy is needed. We previously reported that 89Zr-labeled TSP-A01, an antibody against transferrin receptor (TfR), is highly accumulated in a pancreatic cancer xenograft, but not in major normal organs. In the present study, we evaluated the efficacy of radioimmunotherap...

cT84.66 is a human/murine IgG1 with high affinity and specificity for carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). An earlier Phase I trial defined the maximum tolerated dose for 90Y-diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA)-cT84.66 at 22 mCi/m2. Dose-limiting toxicities were reversible leukopenia and thrombocytopenia. The purpose of this Phase I trial was to evaluate the feasibility and toxicities of admin...

The contribution of integrin α6β4 (α6β4) overexpression to the pancreatic cancer invasion and metastasis has been previously shown. We have reported immunotargeting of α6β4 for radionuclide-based and near-infrared fluorescence imaging in a pancreatic cancer model. In this study, we prepared yttrium-90 labeled anti-α6β4 antibody (90Y-ITGA6B4) and evaluated its radioimmunotherapeutic efficacy aga...

BACKGROUND Yttrium-90 radioembolization (90Y-RE) as a treatment for liver tumours induces radiation damage and hypoxia in liver tissue, which is also a trigger for systemic release of angiogenic factors, potentially stimulating tumour growth. We examined changes in circulating angiogenic factors following 90Y-RE and investigated the association between response and angiogenic factors. In this p...

Ten patients with advanced or refractory CD5-expressing hematologic neoplasms [two with chronic lymphocytic leukemia and eight with cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL)] were treated in a Phase I study with the radioimmunoconjugate 90Y-T101, which targets CD5+ lymphocytes. Prior imaging studies using 111In-T101 demonstrated uptake in involved lymph nodes and skin in patients with CTCL, and Phase I ...

Selective internal radiation therapy has emerged as a well-accepted therapeutic for primary and metastatic hepatic malignancies. This therapeutic modality requires the combined efforts of multiple medical disciplines to ensure the safe delivery of yttrium-90 (90Y)-labeled microspheres. The development of this therapy followed decades of clinical research involving tumor vascularity and microsph...

A 65 year old male with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) in the liver was referred for selective internal radionuclide therapy (SIRT) following a history of extensive systemic chemotherapy. 90Y PET imaging was performed immediately after treatment and used to confirm lesion targeting and measure individual lesion absorbed doses. Lesion dosimetry was highly predictive of eventual response in ...

Radioembolization (RE) with glass microspheres (MS) loaded Yttrium-90 (90Y) has been used to treat tumors in the liver some reported success. However, assessing absorbed doses (AD) planning tumor volume (PTV) and normal (NLV) is a key problem address RE. In clinical practice, computation of 90Y activity be administered follows manufacturer’s recommendations, which do not consider specific chara...
