introduction air pollution has harmful effect on human health and the environment. accordingly, considerable effort has been put to analyze the air pollutants. one important issue is the spatial distribution of these pollutants. dispersion of the pollutants released from sources on the ground is mostly driven by the planetary boundary layer where turbulent flow causes mixing of the content of t...

In a well forgotten memoir of 1890, Andrei Markov devised a convergence acceleration technique based on a series transformation which is very similar to what is now known as the WilfZeilberger (WZ) method. We review Markov’s work, put it in the context of modern computeraided WZ machinery, and speculate about possible reasons of the memoir being shelved for so long.

This paper introduces Versat, a minimal Coarse-Grain Reconfigurable Array (CGRA) used as a hardware accelerator to optimize performance and power in a heterogeneous system. Compared to other works, Versat features a smaller number of functional units and a simpler controller. This stems from the observation that competitive acceleration can be achieved with a smaller array and more frequent rec...

We discuss the effects of several sequence acceleration methods on the partial sums of Fourier series. For a large set of functions we show that these methods fail. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: 65B10, 65T10, 42A20
