To achieve sustainable human-agent interaction (HAI), we proposed a new model of intrinsically motivated adaptive agent, which learns about the human partner and behaves to satisfy its intrinsic motivation. To investigate the model’s effectiveness, we conducted a comparative HAI experiment with a simple interaction setting. The results showed that the model was effective in inducing subjective ...

This study compares the relative role of impression management tactics and the other form of supervisor–subordinate guanxi (s–s g) in predicting supervisor-rated employee performance. Empirical data were collected from 175 supervisor-subordinate dyads working full-time in Taiwanese organisations. Specifically, this study uses the Dominance-based Rough Set Approach (DRSA) to formulate employee s...

Dominance-based Rough Set Approach (DRSA) has been proposed to deal with multi-criteria classification problems, where data may be inconsistent with respect to the dominance principle. However, in real-life datasets, in the presence of noise, the notions of lower and upper approximations handling inconsistencies were found to be excessively restrictive which led to the proposal of the variable ...

In cooperatively-breeding species, the sexes of subordinate group members may have important consequences for dominant individuals. We varied subordinates’ sexes in aquariumhoused groups of the cooperatively-breeding cichlid fish Neolamprologus pulcher, and compared the behaviours of dominant individuals in groups with sameversus oppositesex subordinates. Dominants tended to be more aggressive ...

This paper introduces a mechanism for computing approximations of Dominance-Based Rough Sets (DBRS) by bit-vector encodings. DBRS was introduced by Greco et al. as an extension of Pawlak’s classical rough sets theory by using dominance relations in place of equivalence relations for approximating sets of preference ordered decision classes. Our formulation of dominance-based approximation space...

Incremental induction of decision rules within the dominance-based rough set approach to the multicriteria and multiattribute classification is discussed. We introduce an algorithm, called Glance, that incrementally induces a set of all rules from examples. We experimentally evaluate it and compare with two other algorithms, previously proposed for this kind of classification problem.

Induction of decision rules within the dominance-based rough set approach to the multiple-criteria sorting decision problem is discussed in this paper. We introduce an algorithm called DOMLEM that induces a minimal set of generalized decision rules consistent with the dominance principle. An extension of this algorithm for a variable consistency model of dominance based rough set approach is al...

The standard RSA cryptosystem is not semantically secure. Pointcheviel proposed a variant of RSA cryptosystem with the property of semantic security by introducing a new problem known as DRSA problem. He called it DRSA scheme. In this paper, we underlined a shortcoming of that scheme and proposed an alternative DRSA public key cryptosystem.

One of the primary differences between humans and other animals is our capacity for high level cognition and the use of language. Historically, AI has understandably focused on duplicating these aspects of human behavior, and selected its architectures accordingly. However, humans are nevertheless social mammals and share a large part of the mammalian behavior repertoire, such as feeding, as we...
