conclusions the results of this study showed that arbutin may protect the liver against ccl4-induced oxidative damage in rats. this hepatoprotective effect might be correlated with the antioxidant and free radical scavenger effects of arbutin. results treatment with ccl4 for 28 d decreased the levels of total protein and albumin and increased the level of bilirubin and lipid peroxidation. arbut...

The study of toxicities which are caused by free radical inducing chemicals (e.g., carbon tetrachloride), helps to determine the mode of action of those important drugs which act by inhibiting free radicals. Evaluation of toxicities induced by carbon tetrachloride and phenobarbitone administration was carried out in seventy healthy male rabbits. Each animal received CCI4 0.25-0.5 mL/kg bod...

The performance of Cu-BTC metal organic framework for carbon tetrachloride removal from air has been studied using molecular simulations. According to our results, this material shows extremely high adsorption selectivity in favour of carbon tetrachloride. We demonstrate that this selectivity can be further enhanced by selective blockage of the framework.

The aim of this study was to investigate prophylactic and curative effect of polyphenolic extract of Ichnocarpus frutescense against carbon tetrachloride and tamoxifen induced hepatotoxicity in rats. Carbon tetrachloride and tamoxifen caused liver damage in rats manifested by significant rise in serum enzymes levels. Models of carbon tetrachloride and tamoxifen intoxication elicited significant...

A cytosolic spermidine N-acetyltransferase has been partially purified from livers of rats treated with carbon tetrachloride or thioacetamide. This enzyme formed N’-acetylspermidine when incubated with spermidine and acetyl-coA. The enzyme was also able to acetylate spermine, norspermidine, norspermine and, at a much slower rate, 1,3-diaminopropane. Putrescine, cadaverine, homospermidine, and ...

Raman spectra of Carbon Tetrachloride and Methanol solutions were measured. Spectral lines ν3,νcom(ν1+ν4) of Carbon Tetrachloride Vibrational Spectra were analyzed. The results showed that Fermi resonance coefficients depend on methanol concentration, besides to the existence of clear effect for the polarization of carbon on these coefficients. In addition, cases of splitting in the energy leve...

In the Journal of the American Mcdical Association of November 19th, 1921, there appeared a note by Maurice C. Hall on the use of Carbon tetrachloride for the removal of hookworms in animals. Dr. Hall is the senior zoologist, United States Bureau of Animal Industry, and he found this drug to be a powerful anthelmintic in dogs* and suggested its trial in human uncinariasis. Carbon tetrachloride ...
