This paper deals with the experimental results of a xenon flash-lamp pumped passively Q-switched Nd:YAG laser using Cr4+:YAG saturable absorber. The need of a laser cavity to be integrated into a time-of-flight laser range finder is of great interest as an experimental investigation of several laser resonators. Two types of laser resonator, with different lengths, have been studied: the flat-fl...

Circularly-polarized antenna is built based on a new SIW (substrate integrated waveguide)structure which contains cavity-backed resonator and a conventional polarized ring with twosquare slits in inner and outer ring that differ 90° at position and is proposed for right-handedcircular polarization (RHCP) and fabricated in two separate layers. A broadband impedancebandwidth of 13.9% and a RHCP a...

We study a mechanical resonator made of aluminum near the normal-tosuperconducting phase transition. A sharp drop in the rate of mechanical damping is observed below the critical temperature. The experimental results are compared with predictions based on the Bardeen Cooper Schrieffer theory of superconductivity and a fair agreement is obtained. In this paper, we study the coherent transport of single photon in a coupled resonator waveguide (CRW) where two threelevel Λ-type atomic ensembles are embedded in two separate cavities. We show that it is possible to control the photon transmission and reflection coefficients by using classical control fields. In particular, we find that the total photon transmission and reflection are achieva...

The fundamental knowledge contained in the previous paper on “Cavity control system essential modeling for TESLA linear accelerator and free electron laser” is applied for Matlabs’ Simulink implementation of the basic models for the cavity resonator. Elementary simulations of the cavity behavior are carried out and some experimental results for signals and power considerations are presented.

-We present a photorefractively pumped ring resonator for the formation of self-organized, topology-preserving mappings. The self-imaging ring resonator with saturable gain and loss supports localized cavity modes at arbitrary transverse locations. When the resonator is pumped by two uncorrelated signals, two spatially well separated modes form. Each mode is correlated temporally with one of th...

Current research on micromechanical resonators strives for quantum-limited detection of the motion of macroscopic objects. Prerequisite to this goal is the observation of measurement backaction consistent with quantummetrology limits. However, thermal noise currently dominates measurements and precludes ground-state preparation of the resonator. Here, we establish the collective motion of an ul...

We investigate the ray dynamics in an optical cavity when a ray-splitting mechanism is present. The cavity is a conventional two-mirror stable resonator, and the ray splitting is achieved by inserting an optical beam splitter perpendicular to the cavity axis. Using Hamiltonian optics, we show that such a simple device presents surprisingly rich chaotic ray dynamics.

Laser cooling by coherent scattering inside an optical cavity, a method proposed for cooling the motion of arbitrary particles that scatter light, is analyzed in terms of the modified emission spectrum. In contrast to conventional Doppler cooling, this method invokes the two-photon Doppler effect along the direction of the momentum transferred in the scattering process. Three-dimensional coolin...

We investigate the effect of a degenerate optical parametric amplifier (OPA) placed inside an optomechanical cavity on the steady-state entanglement of two cavity modes, which jointly interact with a mechanical resonator. Two cavity modes are respectively driven at the red and blue sideband associated with the mechanical resonator, which generates entanglement between them in the limit of resol...
