Porcine circovirus type 1 (PCV1), originally isolated as a contaminant of PK-15 cells, is nonpathogenic, whereas porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) causes an economically important disease in pigs. To determine the factors affecting virus replication, we constructed chimeric viruses by swapping open reading frame 1 (ORF1) (rep) or the origin of replication (Ori) between PCV1 and PCV2 and compared...

In October 2016, porcine circovirus type 3 (PCV3) was identified as a pathogen agent for pigs in the United States. Here, we report the genome sequence of a Chinese PCV3 strain, PCV3/CN/Hubei-618/2016. This will help us better understand the epidemiology and genetic characteristics of PCV3.

A novel duck circovirus (DuCV) strain, designated GH01, was isolated from ducklings in southwestern China. We report the genome sequence of GH01 and the genomic organization and genetic relationship to other DuCVs. The availability of the genome sequence will be helpful to investigations of epidemiology and the evolutionary biology of this organism and the development of preventive vaccines.

The pathogenicity of PCV 2 in the body vaccinated piglets was studied based on results pathomorphological changes lungs and liver animals. work carried out commercial with vaccine Ingelvak CircoFLEX (Germany) against circovirus. used clinical, zootechnical, enzyme immunoassay research methods. It has been established that under conditions ongoing vaccination PCV2, 30.3% still do not have virus-...

ABSTRACT: Porcine circovirus 2 (PCV2) has a considerable economic impact on the pork industry worldwide for more than two decades. In 2016, new circovirus, porcine 3 (PCV3), was described; since then, it been reported to be associated with diseased or even in clinically healthy swine several countries. Considering importance of wild boars as reservoirs pathogens and extensive distribution these...

Postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS) is an emerging disease in swine. Recently, the disease has been reproduced with inocula containing a newly described porcine circovirus (PCV), designated PCV 2, and porcine parvovirus (PPV). In order to determine if these viruses interact in naturally acquired PMWS, affected tissues from field cases were examined by immunohistochemistry (IHC) an...

The aim of this study was to develop a suitable vaccine antigen against porcine circovirus 2 (PCV2), the causative agent of post-weaning multi-systemic wasting syndrome, which causes significant economic losses in swine breeding. Chimeric antigens containing PCV2b Cap protein sequences based on the mouse polyomavirus (MPyV) nanostructures were developed. First, universal vectors for baculovirus...

An experimental study was conducted to evaluate the potential presence of porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) in the semen of infected boars. Four mature boars were inoculated intranasally with PCV2 isolate LHVA-V53 propagated on PK15 cells. Two boars inoculated with the supernatant of noninfected PK15 cells were kept as controls. Serum samples were collected from all boars at 4, 7, 11, 13, 18, 21...

Clinical signs and pathological features are still the corner-stones to suspect and diagnose overt disease associated with PCV2 infection. The clinico-pathological scope of this viral infection has been expanded over time. From the initial description of postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome, some enteric, respiratory and reproductive disorders have been subsequently linked with PCV2. Porc...
