Carbonate globules in ALH84001 are associated with small olivine grains [1] – an unexpected finding because the olivines equilibrated at high T while the carbonate is chemically zoned and unequilibrated. A possible explanation comes from a terrestrial analog on Spitsbergen (Norway) [2], where some carbonate globules grew in cavities left by aqueous dissolution of olivine. For ALH84001, the same...

Polypyrrole globules, nanofibers and nanotubes were activated by their carbonization at 650 °C in the 3:1 mass excess of molten potassium hydroxide argon. They have been compared with parent polypyrroles analogous samples obtained absence hydroxide. The yields after activation, 12–18 wt%, lower to carbonization, which exceeded 50 wt%. changes molecular structure are discussed on basis FTIR Rama...

The finding is recorded of typical a1-antitrypsin globules, confirmed by immunofluorescence and immunoperoxidase methods, in the hepatocytes of a patient shown to have a normal serum antitrypsin level and normal phenotype (TiM) for a1-antitrypsin. The identification of such globules can no longer be regarded as conclusive evidence of an abnormal a1-antitrypsin phenotype.

Extracellular storage of thyroglobulin (TG) is an important prerequisite for maintaining constant levels of thyroid hormones in vertebrates. Storage of large amounts is made possible by compactation of TG in the follicle lumen with concentrations of at least 100-400 mg/ml. We recently observed that the luminal content from bovine thyroids can be isolated in an intact state and be separated from...

eucalyptus globulus is an important rapid-growing trees in eucalypts that applied for agroforestry and tree improvement programs. it has been used as a source of pulp in paper industry, essential oil and honey production. asexual propagation with conventional methods such as cutting and graft wasnot possible or obtained success was very low, because of hard proliferation of adventitious roots. ...

Atomic force microscopy in a force-spectroscopy mode has been used to investigate the kinetics of the adsorption process of fibrinogen molecules on a silica surface. An original "approach/retraction" cycle of the tip/surface was used for this purpose. Fibrinogen molecules were adsorbed on the atomic force microscopy tip and were brought into contact with the silica surface for different interac...

The mammary epithelium produces numerous lipid droplets during lactation and secretes them in plasma membrane-enclosed vesicles known as milk fat globules. The biogenesis of such fat globules is considered to provide a model for clarifying the mechanisms of lipogenesis in mammals. In the present study, we identified acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase, ATP citrate lyase, and fatty acid synthase in mo...

Human milk fat globules (HMFGs) are considered to constitute a triglyceride-rich source of fat and energy. However, milk contains lipid particles at different sizes ranging from tens of micrometers to less than 1 microm. In particular, the physical, chemical, and biological properties of submicron sized particles are poorly described. Individual HMFGs were analyzed using laser trapping confocal...

A 13-year-old male Shetland Sheepdog had a subcutaneous tumor in the left brachium. The tumor was removed and recurred several times at 5, 13, 16, 22, and 31 months after the initial presentation. Histologically, the removed nodules from the fourth resection were composed of neoplastic proliferation of round to fusiform cells, which possessed eosinophilic globules in their cytoplasm. The globul...
