Over the last three decades a large body of research in the field of ELECTRE family methods appeared. This research has been conducted by several researchers mainly in Europe. The purpose of this chapter is to present a survey of the ELECTRE methods since their first appearance in mid-sixties, when ELECTRE I was proposed by Bernard Roy and his colleagues at SEMA consultancy company. The chapter...

In this paper, we propose a hybrid fuzzy decision making approach, combining elements of fuzzy-ELECTRE and Fuzzy-TOPSIS, towards a new ranking procedure. The main objective of FETOPSIS is to offer rankings with good alternative discriminatory power to decision makers (DMs). This research work was motivated by a real case study in which multiple attribute decision making techniques were used to ...

Given a finite set of alternatives, the sorting (or assignment) problem consists in the assignment of each alternative to one of the pre-defined categories. In this paper, we are interested in multiple criteria sorting problems and, more precisely, in the existing method ELECTRE TRI. This method requires the elicitation of preferential parameters (importance coefficients, thresholds, profiles,....

The Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) is a systematic evaluation process of the environmental consequences urban and territorial plans programs which aims to guarantee high degree protection contribute integrating factors during design, adoption, approval programs. Even if in Europe SEA was already included legislation each European Member State as 2017, these countries—and particularly ...

This paper proposes a multicriteria model for assessing public bus operation systems based on the ELECTRE method in the city of Eskisehir, Turkey. In this specific problem, public and expert opinions towards the privatization of urban bus lines were collected through a comprehensive survey to determine the best operation system; either by the local authority or private operators. The data colle...

This note deals with the problem of choosing on the basis of a fuzzy preference relation. In the area of MCDM, such a problem occurs with outranking methods using fuzzy relations such as ELECTRE III. In this note, we study a choice procedure based on the ‘min in favor’. We show that it is the only one to satisfy a system of three independent axioms.

Multiple Criteria Sorting Problem consists in assigning a set of alternatives A"Ma 1 , a 2 ,2, l evaluated on n criteria g 1 , g 2 ,2, n to one of the categories which are pre-de"ned by some norms corresponding to vectors of scores on particular criteria, called pro"les, either separating the categories or playing the role of central reference objects in the categories. The assignment of an alt...

ELECTRE TRI is a set of methods designed to sort alternatives evaluated on several criteria into ordered categories. The original method uses limiting profiles. A recently introduced method uses central profiles. We study the relations between these two methods. We do so by investigating if an ordered partition obtained with one method can also be obtained with the other method, after a suitabl...

Group decision is usually understood as the reduction of different individual preferences on a given set to a single collective preference. At present, there are few approaches which solve the group ranking problem with multiple criteria in a widely acceptable way. Often, they rest on a poor heuristic which makes a decision about consensus ranking difficult to support. This paper presents an ex...

Main decision-making problems can be described into choice, ranking or sorting of a set of alternatives or solutions. The principle of Electre TRI (ET) method is to sort alternatives ai according to criteria g j into categories Ch whose lower and upper limits are respectively bh and bh+1. The sorting procedure is based on the evaluations of outranking relations based firstly on calculation of p...
