B factories measure the CP violation parameter of BB̄ mixing and decay. Hadron colliders measure the dimuon charge asymmetry of an admixture of B hadrons. In this note we discuss a subtle point on how the CP violation parameter of B s B̄ 0 s mixing and decay can be extracted from these measurements.

We summarize recent measurements made at the Tevatron Collider using top event candidates. Cross section and mass measurements are discussed in a separate contribution to these Proceedings. Here we report on studies of the top PT distribution in tt production and studies of single top production. Properties of top decays examined are: BF(t → Wb)/BF(t → Wq), helicity amplitudes of W’s from top d...

The possibility is discussed to observe the sparticle decay modes of the heavy MSSM Higgs bosons at the Large Hadron Collider. We focus on the heavy neutral Higgses H and A, and argue that their decay into neutralinos may access an interesting region in MSSM parameter space up to mA = 450 GeV for low and intermediate values of tanβ. If neutralinos and sleptons are light enough, the H, A → χ02χ ...

We consider under what conditions any narrow neutral resonance, particularly the recently reported state c(2.2), could be a Higgs particle, either a fundamental boson or a composite Technicolor state. A number of tests are summarized including what is expected in T decay, bquark decay, 2’ decays, branching ratios and properties of t(2.2) decay, and production at hadron machines. Implications fo...

The pT-differential production cross section of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays in the rapidity range −1.06 < ycms < 0.14 in p-Pb collisions at √ sNN = 5.02 TeV has been measured with ALICE. The cross section of electrons from beauty-hadron decays, isolated based on their larger average displacement from the interaction vertex, is presented as well as the nuclear modification factor ...

The production of heavy particles at hadron colliders is associated with radiation of additional quarks and gluons from incoming partons. They can have significant transverse momenta and the additional initial state radiation (ISR) jets complicate the reconstruction of new particle masses. Taking gluino pair production and decay at the Large Hadron Collider as an example, we develop a novel tec...

We discuss the feasibility of the observation of the signal from B c mesons in the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. In particular, we address the decay mode B c →J/ψπ followed by the leptonic decay J/ψ→µ + µ − , which should permit an accurate measurement of the B c mass. We performed a Monte Carlo study of the signal and background concluding that a precision of ≈ 1 MeV for the B c mass could be a...

We have results from light hadron simulations in quenched QCD at β = 6.0 and 6.2 using non-perturbatively improved Sheikholeslami–Wohlert fermions in an effort to remove all O(a) effects. From looking at hadron masses and splittings and the RG-invariant quark masses (where we have one point at β = 5.7) we suggest this is plausible even with the limited data set. The interpretation of the decay ...

We have measured the B hadron energy distribution in Z 0 decays using a sample of semi-leptonic B decays recorded in the SLD experiment at SLAC. The energy of each tagged B hadron was reconstructed using information from the lepton and a partially-reconstructed charm-decay vertex. We compared the scaled energy distribution with several models of heavy quark fragmentation. The average scaled ene...
