the current study highlights the in vitro antioxidant and antitumor activity of the previously-synthesized hydrazone derivatives against various free radicals and human cancer cell lines, respectively. the anticancer efficacies of the compound were tested by measuring cytotoxicity in cancer cell lines hela, a549, and non-cancerous nl20 cells. compounds possessing electron-donor methoxy and meth...

A bio-inspired antireflective hetero-nanojunction structure has been fabricated by the hydrothermal growth of ZnO nanorods on silicon micro-pyramids. It has been shown that this structure suppresses light reflection more effectively resulting in a high photocurrent response and good charge separation simultaneously. The strategy provides a means to enhance solar energy conversion.

Homo-metallic metal alkynyl complexes exhibit interesting catenane structures, but their hetero-metallic catenane counterparts are under-developed. In this work, we report rare examples of bimetallic Au–Cu (DtbpC^C ligand; Dtbp 1⁄4 3,5-di-tert-butylphenyl), Au–Ag (BuC^C ligand), and Au–Cu, Au–Ag (C6FluoC^C ligand; C6-Fluo 1⁄4 9,9-dihexyl-9H-fluoren-2-yl) complexes as well as a trimetallic Au–Ag...

We present the hetero-epitaxy of III-V materials on 200 mm Silicon wafers by MOCVD. A Ge layer is first grown on the silicon wafer by a two-step process, allowing a lattice matched GaAs layer to be grown on top. Anti-phase boundaries formation are avoided by using a high growth temperature and an arsine partial pressure above 5 mbar during the nucleation of the GaAs layer. The resulting GaAs vi...

The IMB Jena Image Library of Biological Macromolecules (http://www.imb-jena.de/IMAGE.html) is aimed at a better dissemination of information on three-dimensional biopolymer structures with an emphasis on visualization and analysis. It provides access to all structure entries deposited at the Protein Data Bank (PDB) and Nucleic Acid Database (NDB). In addition, basic information on the architec...

We show that firms that sell products with higher demand choose to establish their plants in larger countri...

2D photoactive materials may offer interesting opportunities in photocatalytic devices since they combine strong light absorption and shortening of charge carriers’ diffusion path. Because their high surface defect concentration the formation a majority edge/plane vs plane/plane contacts between anisotropic building blocks, passivation improvement carrier transport are critical for large develo...

In the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae there are five nuclear MutS homologs that act in two distinct processes. MSH2, 3, and 6 function in mismatch repair in both vegetative and meiotic cells, whereas MSH4 and MSH5 act specifically to facilitate crossovers between homologs during meiosis. Coimmunoprecipitation as well as two-hybrid experiments indicate that the Msh4 and Msh5 proteins form a hete...
