A Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes solver based on unstructured mesh techniques for analysis of high-lift configurations is described. The method makes use of an agglomeration multigrid solver for convergence acceleration. Implicit line-smoothing is employed to relieve the stiffness associated with highly stretched meshes. A GMRES technique is also implemented to speed convergence at the expense...
Surgical eyebrow lift has been described by using many different open and endoscopic methods. Difficult techniques and only short time benefits oft lead to patients' complaints. We present a safe and simple temporal Z-incision technique for eyebrow lift in 37 patients. Besides simplicity and safety, our technique shows long lasting aesthetic results with hidden scars and a high rate of patient ...
Similar to random sea waves, forces on the offshore structures due to waves are random. These forces can be mainly divided into two components, namely, inline forces and transverse or lift forces. The random nature of lift forces is more complicated than that of inline forces and both should be combined for design purposes. In the present paper, two different approaches have been used to determ...
Abstract An analysis is presented of 99 baseball trajectories measured by the PITCHf/x tracking system pitched by Boston Red Sox lefthander Jon Lester in the August 3, 2007, game against the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field. The analysis technique is described in detail. The drag and lift coefficients and the magnitude and direction of the spin vector are extracted and discussed. A pitch classi...
Let k be a perfect field of characteristic p > 0. We obtain a complete classification of finite abelian local k-Hopf algebras with local dual such that the augmentation ideal is annihilated by the Frobenius map. We then use the theory of finite Honda systems to show that these Hopf algebras lift to extensions R of W (k) with 2 ≤ e(R/W (k)) ≤ p − 1, and construct all such lifts.
Aim: This paper focus is to describe and evaluate the authors' personal technique for a simplified transpalpebral eyebrow lift. Methods: We performed surgery in 179 patients (95% females and 5% males) between years of 2008 and 2009. Initially, a thorough assessment of brow stability and symmetry was performed. To achieve desirable aesthetic we agreed upon the consensus that the eyebrow lateral ...
background and aim: although there have been substantial developments in dental implant therapies, achieving good implant stability (isq >60) for implants inserted in augmented sinus sites appears to be challenging in comparison with non-augmented sites due to the high prevalence of bone resorption in posterior regions of maxilla. this study aimed to evaluate and compare the time required to a...
For a century, researchers have used the standard lift coefficient C(L) to evaluate the lift, L, generated by fixed wings over an area S against dynamic pressure, ½ρv(2), where v is the effective velocity of the wing. Because the lift coefficient was developed initially for fixed wings in steady flow, its application to other lifting systems requires either simplifying assumptions or complex ad...
we show that in {bf zf} set theory without choice, the ultrafilter mbox{principle} ({bf up}) is equivalent to several compactness theorems for alexandroff discrete spaces and to rudin's lemma, a basic tool in topology and the theory of quasi-continuous domains. important consequences of rudin's lemma are various lift lemmas, saying that certain properties of posets are inherited by th...
