Inspired by an open problem of Alsina, Frank and Schweizer, k-Lipschitz t-norms are studied. The k-convexity of continuous monotone functions is introduced. Additive generators of k-Lipschitz tnorms are completely characterized by means of k-convexity. For a given k ∈ [1,∞[ the pointwise infimum A∗k of the class of all k-Lipschitz t-norms is introduced.
Theorem A. Let g : [0, T ]× IR 7→ IR be a bounded function. (i) If the map t 7→ g(t, x) is measurable for each x and the map x 7→ g(t, x) is continuous for each t, then the Cauchy problem (1.1) has at least one solution. (ii) If the map t 7→ g(t, x) is measurable for each x and the map x 7→ g(t, x) is Lipschitz continuous for each t, with a uniform Lipschitz constant, then the Cauchy problem (1...
This paper investigates global asymptotic stability (GAS) and global exponential stability (GES) of a class of continuous-time recurrent neural networks. First, we introduce a necessary and sufficient condition for existence and uniqueness of equilibrium of the neural networks with Lipschitz continuous activation functions. Next, we present two sufficient conditions to ascertain the GAS of the ...
This article is concerned with symmetry properties of the solutions of the reaction-diiusion equation u + f (u) = 0 in a bounded connected domain in R N (N = 2; 3; : : :). Of especial interest are nonlinear source terms f of the type f (u) = u p ? u q with 0 q < p 1. Two results are presented. The rst result concerns the solution of a free boundary problem, where the domain is unknown and u and...
This paper presents ModelGuard, a sampling-based approach to runtime model validation for Lipschitz-continuous models. Although techniques exist the of many classes models, majority these methods cannot be applied whole which includes neural network Additionally, existing generally consider only white-box By taking approach, we can address black-box represented by an input-output relationship a...
We denote by (P ) the problem given by the equation (1), the boundary condition (2) and the initial condition (3). We assume that the function c satisfies the hypothesis (Hc) c is a continuous nondecreasing function such that c ′ ∈ Lloc(R); and that the initial condition u0 and the boundary data u D satisfy the hypotheses (H0) u0 ∈ L∞(Ω) and we define U0 := ‖u0‖L∞(Ω); (HD) u D is Lipschitz cont...
In the context of a strongly local Dirichlet space we show that if a function mapping the real line to itself (and fixing the origin) operates by composition on the left to map the Dirichlet space into itself, then the function is necessarily locally Lipschitz continuous. If, in addition, the Dirichlet space contains unbounded elements, then the function must be globally Lipschitz continuous. T...
Steepest descent drives both theory and practice of nonsmooth optimization. We study slight relaxations of two influential notions of steepest descent curves — curves of maximal slope and solutions to evolution equations. In particular, we provide a simple proof showing that lower-semicontinuous functions that are locally Lipschitz continuous on their domains — functions playing a central role ...
