wileyonlinelibrary.com to authenticate are therefore important for the protection of brands and valuable documents such as bank notes, diplomas and certifi cates. Luminescent tags or labels are appreciated security elements for protecting authenticatable articles. One way to incorporate luminescent materials as luminescent security elements is to print them with luminescent inks. [ 2 ] Nowadays...
A novel class of luminescent cyclometalated gold(III) alkynyl complexes has been demonstrated to possess EL properties and has been employed in the roles of electrophosphorescent emitters or dopants of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) with high brightness and efficiency.
Nanomaterials with a characteristic dimension in the range of 1-100 nanometers (nm) are at the leading edge of nanoscience and nanotechnology. In recent years nanomaterials, and specifically metal nanoparticles, have received particular interest in diverse field ranging from material science to biotechnology (Guo et al. 2005, Daniel and Astruc 2004, Huang et al. 2007). Although widespread inter...
Luminescent solar concentrators (LSCs) generally consist of transparent polymer sheets doped with luminescent species. Incident sunlight is absorbed by the luminescent species and emitted with high quantum efficiency, such that emitted light is trapped in the sheet and travels to the edges where it can be collected by solar cells. LSCs offer potentially lower cost per Wp. This paper reviews res...
In August 1992, a physician notified the Alaska Division of Public Health (ADPH) that three patients at a psychiatric hospital had consumed ceramic glaze during ceramic therapy (i.e., recreation therapy involving the production of ceramic ware), and two of these patients had elevated blood lead levels (BLLs). This report summarizes the ADPH's investigation of these ingestions.

PURPOSE The purpose of this in vitro research project was to evaluate and compare the wear behavior of human tooth enamel opposing monolithic zirconia and other different ceramic restorative materials and also to observe the tetragonal to monoclinic phase transformation in zirconia-based ceramics that may occur while simulating wear occurring at room temperature in a wet environment. MATERIAL...
Abstract Background & aim: There are so many studies about effect of colored drinks and mouthwashes on discoloration of different dental ceramics. However, little is known regarding the effect of colored drinks on discoloration of monolithic zirconia .The purpose of this invitro study was to evaluate the effect of different surface treament methods on color stability of monolithic zirconia....
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Streptococcus mutans can adhere at restored tooth margins to cause recurrent caries. Limited information about surface quality and bacterial adherence is available for lithium disilicate ceramic materials. PURPOSE The purpose of this in vitro study was to investigate how bacterial adherence is influenced by commercially available preparations of lithium disilicate ceramic...
