We have previously identified a Golgi-localized spectrin isoform by using an antibody to the beta-subunit of erythrocyte spectrin. In this study, we show that a screen of a lambdagt11 expression library resulted in the isolation of an approximately 5-kb partial cDNA from a Madin-Darby bovine kidney (MDBK) cell line, which encoded a polypeptide of 1697 amino acids with low, but detectable, seque...

Hobi-like pestivirus is a novel pestivirus species first isolated in 2004. Here, we report the genome sequence of a Hobi-like pestivirus strain isolated from contaminated MDBK cells in China. The sequence information is important for surveillance of this emerging animal infectious disease worldwide.

tumor growth is characterized by uncontrolled cell division. for centuries, silver kushta powder, composed of nano and submicro silver particles, has been used in traditional iranian and pakistani medicine for the treatment of melanoma and breast cancer. we have found that these nanocomposite particles are similar to silver nanoparticles (agnps) in size and shape and that there are so differenc...

Pasteurella multocida OmpA-like gene (PmOmpA) was cloned and characterized. The mature protein had a molecular mass of 35,075 Da and significant similarity with Escherichia coli (E. coli) OmpA proteins. Membrane topology analyses predict that like E. coli OmpA, the N-terminal half of PmOmpA exists as an eight-stranded transmembrane antiparallel beta-barrel that displays four variable hydrophili...

Our previous report demonstrated that bovine ephemeral fever virus (BEFV)-infected cultured cells could induce caspase-dependent apoptosis. This study aims to further elucidate how BEFV activates the caspase cascade in bovine cells. BEFV replicated and induced apoptosis in Vero and Madin-Darby bovine kidney (MDBK) cells, and a kinetic study showed a higher efficiency of replication and a greate...

One of the most common viruses in world that causes disease cattle is bovine coronavirus (BCoV). This virus causative agent respiratory and gastrointestinal infections newborn calves, resulting significant economic losses both dairy meat farming. Considering complex epizootic situation with coronaviruses partial antigenic affinity BCoV other species animals humans, isolation new strains coronav...
