"Split" pancreaticojejunostomy is a procedure consisting of vertical transection of the pancreas and anastomosis of both sides of the cut pancreatic duct with an interposed, Roux-en-Y jejunal loop. In this paper we report the long term results of this procedure in the treatment of eight patients with chronic pancreatitis (CP).

Objective: We sought to review our experience with postoperative pancreatic fistulas complicated with bleeding. Patients and Methods: Between January 2001 and September 2015 307 patients underwent pancreatico-duodenoectomies or central pancreatectomies. All cares were reconstructed by pancreaticojejunostomy. Results: Overall 30 day mortality was 3.6% (11 of 307 patients). Seven patients (5 male...

Two anastomotic techniques are available for reconstruction after pancreatoduodenectomy: pancreatojejunostomy, which is the traditional and most widely used technique, and pancreatogastrostomy. The latter was introduced into clinical practice more than 50 years ago, and has recently received increasing attention due to favorable outcome when compared to pancreatojejunostomy in randomized contro...

INTRODUCTION The authors bring to attention pancreaticojejunalanastomosis (PJA) performed after cephalic pancreaticoduodenectomy(CPD). This type of anastomosis is renowned forits high risk of complications. Among these complications, pancreatic fistula (PF) is distinguishable due to a significant frequency, averaging 10%. It is perhaps the most unsafe type of anastomosis in digestive surgery, d...
