The oxidative doping of single poly(N-vinylcarbazole) (PVK) nanoparticles is reported in aqueous sodium perchlorate using the nanoimpact method. Complete oxidative doping of single PVK nanoparticles with a size of approximately 120 nm is demonstrated, showing for the first time a simple strategy to synthesize and characterize doped polymeric nanoparticles at the single nanoparticle level.

Aim Stabilizers are known to be an integral component of polymeric nanostructures. Ideally, they manipulate physicochemical properties of nanoparticles. Based on this hypothesis, we demonstrated that disulfiram (drug) and Poly-lactide-co-glycolide (polymer) interactions and physicochemical properties of their nanoparticles formulations are significantly influenced by the choice of stabilizers. ...

This paper presents a new method for fabrication of biodegradable polymeric nanoparticles as carriers for anticancer drug paclitaxel. Emulsion solvent evaporation method was frequently employed to prepare polymeric nanoparticles for drug delivery systems in which the emulsifier such as PVA has to be used. In this study, direct dialysis was employed to fabricate paclitaxel-loaded biodegradable p...

BACKGROUND Development of a nanosized polymeric delivery system for erlotinib was the main objective of this research. MATERIALS AND METHODS Poly caprolactone-polyethylene glycol-polycaprolactone (PCEC) copolymers with different compositions were synthesized via ring opening polymerization. Formation of triblock copolymers was confirmed by HNMR as well as FT-IR. Erlotinib loaded nanoparticles...

The surface of nanoparticles is often functionalised with polymeric surfactants, in order to increase systemic circulation time. This has been investigated mainly for intravenously administered nanoparticles. This study aims to elucidate the effect of surface coating with various concentrations of polymeric surfactants (PEG and Pluronics F127) on the in vitro protein binding as well as the tiss...

Biodegradable poly(ester amine) (PEA)-based and poly(amido amine) (PAA)-based nanoparticles were developed for efficient in vitro siRNA delivery to human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). They were screened, characterized, and compared with traditionally studied DNA-containing particles. Several of the polymeric nanoparticles tested were found to be effective for delivering functional ...

Boronic acids have been widely investigated for their potential use as glucose sensors in glucose responsive polymeric insulin delivery systems. Interactions between cyclic diols and boronic acids, anchored to polymeric delivery systems, may result in swelling of the delivery system, releasing the drug. In this study, 4-formylphenylboronic acid conjugated chitosan was formulated into insulin co...

This review presents an overview about pharmaceutical and cosmetic topical products containing polymeric nanoparticles (nanospheres and nanocapsules), reporting the main preparation and characterization methods and the studies of penetration and transport of substances through the skin. The penetration and transport extent of those systems through the skin depends on the ingredients chemical co...

Objective: The objective of the current research work was to prepare and evaluate novel subcutaneous sustained release polymeric nanoparticles for low molecular weight heparin (LMWH). Methods: In this study, we prepared subcutaneously administered polymeric nanoparticles encapsulating LMWH using different grades of polycaprolactons (PCL) (14k, 45k, 80k) and 0.1% Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solution...
