A new type of rechargeable Mg battery is demonstrated, which achieves charge transfer through simultaneous transport of Mg(2+) cations and halogen anions during electrochemical cycling. The novel Mg/AgCl battery shows remarkable rate capability up to 10 C and excellent cyclability at high rates, with a flat plateau at 2 V.

A facile microwave-hydrothermal approach has been used to synthesize single-crystalline Fe(3)O(4) nanowires within 15 min at 150 degrees C. The Fe(3)O(4) nanowires, after decorating with carbon, exhibit excellent cyclability and rate performance when employed as an anode in lithium ion batteries.
Hollow polypyrrole (PPy) nanospheres with high sodium storage capacity as cathode materials for Na-ion batteries were reported. PPy hollow nanospheres demonstrated high current rate capacity and good cyclability.
