Microbacterium sp. strain Yaish 1 is a rhizospheric bacterium isolated from date palm orchards with high soil salinity. The genome was sequenced, and genes coding for growth-promoting 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate (ACC) deaminase, siderophore-producing proteins, and tryptophan biosynthesis proteins were identified. Here, we report the draft whole-genome sequencing of the strain.
Bacillus subtilis SR1 is a heavy metal-resistant, polyaromatic hydrocarbon-degrading bacterium isolated from rhizospheric soil of contaminated sites. It has the ability to promote plant growth and utilize benzo[a]pyrene as a carbon source. This study reports the characteristics of the genome of B. subtilis SR1, which contains one circular chromosome (4,093,698 bp).
We present here the complete genome sequence of Bradyrhizobium japonicum strain E109, one of the most used rhizobacteria for soybean inoculation in Argentina since the 1970s. The genome consists of a 9.22-Mbp single chromosome and contains several genes related to nitrogen fixation, phytohormone biosynthesis, and a rhizospheric lifestyle.
We report here the genome sequence of Pandoraea sp. ISTKB, a betaproteobacterium isolated from rhizospheric soil in the backwaters of Alappuzha, Kerala, India. The strain is alkalotolerant and grows on medium containing lignin as a sole carbon source. Genes and pathways related to lignin degradation were complemented by genomic analysis.
The application of fractal geometry to describe soil structure is an increasingly useful tool for better understanding the performance of soil systems. Only a few studies, however, have focused on the structure of rhizospheric zones, where energy flow and nutrient recycling most frequently occur. We used fractal dimensions to investigate the characteristics of particle-size distribution (PSD) i...
Soil microbes play an essential role in the forest ecosystem as an active component. This study examined the hypothesis that soil microbial community structure and metabolic activity would vary with the increasing stand ages in long-term pure plantations of Pinus elliottii. The phospholipid fatty acids (PLFA) combined with community level physiological profiles (CLPP) method was used to assess ...
The amount of glomalin-related soil protein (GRSP), a glycoprotein produced by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), its contribution to the sequestering of Cu and Zn in the soil, and the microsite variation of other soil traits (pH, water-stable aggregates--[WSA], soil organic carbon--[SOC]) was studied in a semi-arid Mediterranean ecosystem near a copper smelter and affected by deposit of metal...
The effect of rhizospheric bacteria on the physiological and biochemical characteristics safflower (Carthamus tinctorius)
Rhizospheric bacteria may induce resistance to plant diseases. However, the underlying mechanisms are unclear. We demonstrated potential ability of rhizobacterial strain Ba...
abstract among rhizospheric bacteria, great attention has been paid to the group of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria (pgpr), and their role in increasing the growth and health of plants. therefore, it is used largely as inoculum all over the world. the rhizospheric bacterium, which has the genus of flavobacterium, and promotes plants growth, has been studied in recent years. in the present ...
