A cytosolic spermidine N-acetyltransferase has been partially purified from livers of rats treated with carbon tetrachloride or thioacetamide. This enzyme formed N’-acetylspermidine when incubated with spermidine and acetyl-coA. The enzyme was also able to acetylate spermine, norspermidine, norspermine and, at a much slower rate, 1,3-diaminopropane. Putrescine, cadaverine, homospermidine, and ...

The aqueous extract of Abutilon indicum was tested for hepatoprotective activity against carbon tetrachloride- and paracetamol-induced hepatotoxicities in rats. A. indicum exhibited significant hepatoprotective activity by reducing carbon tetrachloride- and paracetamol-induced change in bio-chemical parameters that was evident by enzymatic examination. The plant extract may interfere with free-...

Raman spectra of Carbon Tetrachloride and Methanol solutions were measured. Spectral lines ν3,νcom(ν1+ν4) of Carbon Tetrachloride Vibrational Spectra were analyzed. The results showed that Fermi resonance coefficients depend on methanol concentration, besides to the existence of clear effect for the polarization of carbon on these coefficients. In addition, cases of splitting in the energy leve...
