A neutralization test for the viruses of trachoma and inclusion blennorrhoea grown in HeLa cell cultures is described. Antiserum titres, which are independent of virus concentration over a wide range, can be accurately and reproducibly estimated, Limited cross-neutralization tests indicate a close antigenic relationship between one strain of trachoma v i r u s and two strains of inclusion blenn...

The effect of unheated guinea pig and human prevaccination serum on the neutralization of vaccinia virus was studied. Enhancement of neutralization was found in all sera containing antibody and was more marked (20- to 150-fold) in sera obtained in the first weeks after primary vaccination than in sera from immune adults or cord sera (4- to 25-fold). The enhancing factor was thought to be comple...

Newcastle disease virus (NDV) is a member of the Paramyxovirinae subfamily and can infect most species of birds. It has been a great threat for the poultry industry all around the world. In this report, we successfully produced infectious pseudotyped pNL4-3-Luc-R(-)E(-) (HIV-Luc) viruses with the HN and F envelope proteins of NDV. Further investigation revealed the cytoplasmic domains of HN and...

A new method for the detection of pseudorabies antibody in swine sera was developed by use of the indirect immunoperoxidase plaque staining test. The indirect immunoperoxidase plaque staining test demonstrated serologic responses in pigs that were subcutaneously infected with pseudorabies virus. The test had a sensitivity and a specificity comparable to those of the complement-dependent neutral...

Abstract : Foot and Mouth Disease is one of  the important live stocks contagious viral disease caused by Aphtovirus genus ,  that is belong to family RNA virus  picornaviride. The important characteristic of FMD virus is high mutation that give rise to diversity of Antigen in surface of Neutralizing proteins. For this reason FMD virus have 7 distinct serotype and many subtype. Vaccination is o...

We investigated the kinetics of serologic responses to Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) infection by using virus neutralization and MERS-CoV S1 IgG ELISA tests. In most patients, robust antibody responses developed by the third week of illness. Delayed antibody responses with the neutralization test were associated with more severe disease.

Human Enteroviruses replicate in gastrointestinal tract and are excreted to the sewage system through feces, so isolation of Enteroviruses from sewage can be considered as a sensitive indicator for virus cirulation in society. They are originally given the name of Enteroviruses, but the inadequacy of this term became apparent when some Coxackie and Echoviruses were also found in acute respirato...

Rabies is a highly fatal zoonotic disease which is primarily caused by rabies virus (RABV) although other members of the genus Lyssavirus can cause rabies as well. As yet, 14 serologically and genetically diverse lyssaviruses have been identified, mostly in bats. To assess the quality of rabies vaccines and immunoglobulin preparations, virus neutralization tests with live RABV are performed in ...
