Abstract. Sparse sums of Lorentzians can give good approximations to functions consisting of linear combination of piecewise continuous functions. To each Lorentzian, two parameters are assigned: translation and scale. These parameters can be found by using a method for complex frequency detection in the frequency domain. This method is based on an alternating projection scheme between Hankel m...

In this paper, we derive certain algebraic properties of Toeplitz and Hankel operators defined on the vector-valued Bergman spaces L2,C n a (D), where D is the open unit disk in C and n ≥ 1. We show that the set of all Toeplitz operators TΦ,Φ ∈ LMn(D) is strongly dense in the set of all bounded linear operators L(L2,Cn a (D)) and characterize all finite rank little Hankel operators.

Four new examples of explicitly diagonalizable Hankel matrices depending on a parameter $$k\in (0,1)$$ are presented. The regarded as matrix operators the Hilbert space $$\ell ^{2}(\mathbb {N}_{0})$$ and solution spectral problem is based an application commutator method. Each commutes with Jacobi which related to particular family Stieltjes–Carlitz polynomials. More structured obtained when ta...

In this thesis we study operators, and spaces of operators on a Hubert space defined by intertwining relations. The classical Hankel operators are those operators which intertwine the unilateral shift and its adjoint. We consider generalised Hankel operators relative to shifts and relative to families of shifts and give generalisations of the classical theorems of Nehari and Hartman. In contras...

whenever Φ is such that this extends to a bounded operator on Lpr0, asq. Whenever a is of no importance we will omit it from the notation. We abbreviate by saying that WΦ is a TWH-operator. These operators (or rather, unitarily equivalent ones) also go under the name finite interval convolution operators, truncated Hankel operators or Toeplitz operators on the Paley-Wiener space. See e.g. [1, 2...

Box 119, Saudi Arabia Abstract Hankel operators and Hankel transforms are required in a number of applications. This article proves a number of theorems that efficiently and accurately approximates a function using Hankel transforms and Hankel sum....
