This paper aims to explore the inherent connection between Heisenberg groups, quantum Fourier transform (QFT) and (quasi-probability) distribution functions. Distribution functions for continuous and finite quantum systems are examined from three perspectives and all of them lead to Weyl–Gabor–Heisenberg groups. The QFT appears as the intertwining operator of two equivalent representations aris...

We study the construction of Gabor frames and wavelet for Weyl–Heisenberg group extended affine by using contraction between due to Subag, Baruch, Birman Mann. Firstly, we give with several generators from a unitary irreducible representation associated group. Wavelet an have been obtained. A relation is also discussed. Finally, show that structure are stable under small perturbations.

By considering 'coloured' braid group representation we have obtained a quantum group, which reduces to the standard GL q (2) and GL p,q (2) cases at some particular limits of the 'colour' parameters. In spite of quite complicated nature, all of these new quantum group relations can be expressed neatly in the Heisenberg-Weyl form, for a nontrivial choice of the basis elements. Furthermore, it i...

In 1927, W. Heisenberg demonstrated the impossibility of specifying simultaneously the position and the momentum of an electron within an atom. The following result named, Heisenberg inequality, is not actually due to Heisenberg. In 1928, according to H. Weyl this result is due to W. Pauli. The said inequality states, as follows: Assume thatf : R → C is a complex valued function of a random real ...

We show that the Schrödinger equation in phase space proposed by Torres-Vega and Frederick is canonical in the sense that it is a natural consequence of the extended Weyl calculus obtained by letting the Heisenberg group act on functions (or half-densities) defined on phase space. This allows us, in passing, to solve rigorously the TF equation for all quadratic Hamiltonians.

We sketch a group-theoretical framework, based on the Heisenberg–Weyl group, encompassing both quantum and classical statistical descriptions of unconstrained, non-relativistic mechanical systems. We redefine in group-theoretical terms a kinematical arena and a space of statistical states of a system, achieving a unified quantum-classical language and an elegant version of the quantum-toclassic...

We introduce higher order (polynomial) extensions of the unique (up to isomorphisms) non trivial central extension of the Heisenberg algebra. Using the boson representation of the latter, we construct the corresponding polynomial analogue of the Weyl C*-algebra and use this result to deduce the explicit form of the composition law of the associated generalization of the 1-dimensional Heisenberg...
