Our proposed localization system is similar to existing WiFi-fingerprint localization systems. It works by first collecting received signal strength (RSS) values of access points (APs) from different reference points in the area of interest. This initial training can be done either manually or by crowd-sourcing. The WiFi-fingerprint map is generated from collected RSSs at all reference points. ...

The effective coverage distance of wireless LAN (WLAN) being small, users may leave the coverage area of the specific access point (AP) from time to time while roaming. However, the wireless network is a shared medium. The air is open for everyone. In general there is collision if a few users attempt to transmit with the same channel that is more rigorous during handoff period because of active...

Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) localization using fingerprint has become a prevailing approach for indoor localization. However, the fingerprint-collecting work is repetitive and time-consuming. After the original fingerprint radio map is built, it is laborious to upgrade the radio map. In this paper, we describe a Fingerprint Renovation System (FRS) based on crowdsourcing, which avo...

In this paper, we study different methodologies for implementing fingerprint authentication in embedded systems, namely the DSP and System-on-Chip approaches, for Wireless Applications. Experiments were conducted for evaluation of these approaches. Results show that the SoC system with fixed-point arithmetic support is probably the most ideal candidate.

coronary artery disease (cad) is the most important cause of mortality and morbidity in the world. the knowledge of major risk factos can be useful in prevention of cad. there is no known major risk factof in many patients with myocardial infarction (mi). the dermatoglyphic pattern in patients with myocardial infarction is an interesting matter and little information is available about this rel...

This paper will propose a wolf attack probability (WAP ) as a new measure for evaluating security of biometric authentication systems. The wolf attack is an attempt to impersonate a victim by feeding “wolves” into the system to be attacked. The “wolf” means an input value which can be falsely accepted as a match with multiple templates. WAP is defined as a maximum success probability of the wol...

Recently wireless LAN (WLAN) localization systems are gaining popularity in pervasive computing, machine learning and sensor networks communities, especially indoor scenarios where GPS coverage is limited. To accurately predict location, a large amount of fingerprints composed of received signal strength values is necessary. Moreover, standard supervised or semi-supervised approaches also requi...

In this paper, we present a WiSARD-based system facing the problem of Indoor Positioning (IP) by taking advantage of pervasively available infrastructures (WiFi Access Points – AP). The goal is to develop a system to be used to position users in indoor environments, such as: museums, malls, factories, offshore platforms etc. Based on the fingerprint approach, we show how the proposed weightless...
