Several matrices can be associated to a graph such as the adjacency matrix or the Laplacian matrix. The spectrum of these matrices gives some informations about the structure of the graph and the question “Which graphs are determined by their spectrum?” remains a difficult problem in algebraic graph theory. In this article we enlarge the known families of graphs determined by their spectrum by ...

We show that permutation decoding can be used, and give explicit PD-sets in the symmetric group, for some of the binary codes obtained from the adjacency matrices of the graphs on ` n 3 ́ vertices, for n ≥ 7, with adjacency defined by the vertices as 3-sets being adjacent if they have zero, one or two elements in common, respectively.

Let q be a prime a power and k an integer such that 3 ≤ k ≤ q. In this paper we present a method using Latin squares to construct adjacency matrices of k-regular bipartite graphs of girth 8 on 2(kq − q) vertices. Some of these graphs have the smallest number of vertices among the known regular graphs with girth 8.

Problems related to graph matching and isomorphisms are very important both from a theoretical and practical perspective, with applications ranging from image and video analysis to biological and biomedical problems. The graph matching problem is challenging from a computational point of view, and therefore different relaxations are commonly used. Although common relaxations techniques tend to ...

Estimation of multiple directed graphs becomes challenging in the presence of inhomogeneous data, where directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) are used to represent causal relations among random variables. To infer causal relations among variables, we estimate multiple DAGs given a known ordering in Gaussian graphical models. In particular, we propose a constrained maximum likelihood method with noncon...

Ordered Binary Decision Diagrams (OBDDs for short) are popular dynamic data structures for Boolean functions. In some modern applications, we have to handle such huge graphs that the usual explicit representations by adjacency lists or adjacency matrices are infeasible. To deal with such huge graphs, OBDD-based graph representations and algorithms have been investigated. Although the size of OB...

The recursive computation of the interlace polynomial introduced by Arratia, Bollobás and Sorkin is defined in terms of a new pivoting operation on undirected simple graphs. In this paper, we interpret the new pivoting operation on graphs in terms of standard pivoting (on matrices). Specifically, we show that, up to swapping vertex labels, Arratia et al.’s pivoting operation on a graph is equiv...
