Thompson, J.A. 1983. Production and quality control of carrier-based legume inoculants. Information Bulletin No. 17. Patancheru, A.P., India: International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics, Commercial production of legume inoculants began in 1895 in the USA and UK. In the 1980s they are produced in all continents. Most are used with powdered organic carriers such as peat, alth...

In the present research influences of different combinations of five types of inoculants and four types of nodularizers on eutectic nucleation in ductile cast iron were studied. The alloys were kept at 1320°C for 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20 min under nitrogen atmosphere. Cooling curves and image analysis were used to characterize the influence of holding time and different combinations of inoculants an...

AIMS To determine whether lactic acid bacteria (LAB) used in inoculants for silage can survive in rumen fluid (RF), and to identify those that survive best. METHODS AND RESULTS Twelve commercial silage inoculants were added at 107 CFU ml-1 to strained RF (SRF) taken from dairy cows, with and without 5 g l-1 glucose and incubated in vitro at 39 degrees C. Changes in pH, LAB numbers and ferment...

Biological nitrogen fixation by Rhizobium -legume symbioses represents an environmentally friendly and inexpensive alternative to the use of chemical fertilizers in legume crops. Rhizobial inoculants, applied frequently as biofertilizers, play important role sustainable agriculture. However, inoculants often fail compete for nodule occupancy against native rhizobia with inferior nitrogen-fixing...

A new more sustainable agricultural system needs to be developed increase production without compromising human and animal health preserving essential resources, such as soil, water diversity. Bio-inoculants can a tool favor this transition, they replace or complement agrochemicals that do not meet the above premises. generated from endophytic filamentous fungi mycorrhizal fungi, whether used i...

A field experiment was carried out in randomized block design with 10 treatments and 3 replications at the Department of Seed Science Technology, S.V. Agricultural College, Tirupati during 2022. The blackgram variety TBG-104 differed for field, biochemical, physiological parameters response to different microbial inoculants. influence significant respect crop growth, phenological yield paramete...

An immunoblot procedure for the strain-specific quantitative analysis of commercial Rhizobium inoculants was developed. The technique greatly reduced the time required for inoculant analysis. Correlation between immunoblot analysis and traditional plant nodule grow-out most-probable-number techniques was r = 0.90 for 16 commercial alfalfa inoculants tested.

Rhizosphere competence of bacterial inoculants is assumed to be important for successful biocontrol. Knowledge of factors influencing rhizosphere competence under field conditions is largely lacking. The present study is aimed to unravel the effects of soil types on the rhizosphere competence and biocontrol activity of the two inoculant strains Pseudomonas jessenii RU47 and Serratia plymuthica ...

Fully grown broth cultures of various fast- and slow-growing rhizobia were deliberately diluted with various diluents before their aseptic incorporation into autoclaved peat in polypropylene bags (aseptic method) or mixed with the peat autoclaved in trays (tray method). In a factorial experiment with the aseptic method, autoclaved and irradiated peat samples from five countries were used to pre...
