The purpose of this short article is to announce, and briefly describe, a Maple package, PARTITIONS, that (inter alia) completely automatically discovers, and then proves, explicit expressions (as sums of quasi-polynomials) for pm(n) for any desired m. We do this to demonstrate the power of “rigorous guessing” as facilitated by the quasi-polynomial ansatz.

The tomato rhizosphere isolate Pseudomonas sp. strain P482 is a member of a diverse group of fluorescent pseudomonads. P482 produces a yet unidentified broad-spectrum antimicrobial compound(s), active inter alia (i.a.) against Dickeya spp. Here, we present a nearly complete genome of P482 obtained by a hybrid assembly of Illumina and PacBio sequencing data.

This paper attempts to provide an analogue of the Novikov conjecture for algebraic (or Kähler) manifolds. Inter alia, we prove a conjecture of Rosenberg’s on the birational invariance of higher Todd genera. We argue that in the algebraic geometric setting the Novikov philosophy naturally includes non-birational mappings.

Ionic liquids, being composed entirely of ions, were once mainly of interest to electrochemists. Recently, however, it has become apparent that, inter alia, their lack of measurable vapor pressure characterizes them as green solvents, and that a wide range of chemical reactions (reviewed here) can be performed in them.

We show that quasi-metric or quasi-uniform spaces provide, inter alia, a common generalization of cpo's and metric spaces as used in denotational semantics. To accommodate the examples suggested by computer science, a reworking of basic notions involving limits and completeness is found to be necessary.
