False positive errors are a significant component of many ecological data sets, which in combination with false negative errors, can lead to severe biases in conclusions about ecological systems. We present results of a field experiment where observers recorded observations for known combinations of electronically broadcast calling anurans under conditions mimicking field surveys to determine s...
This paper provides an account of a range of activities included in the Bachelor of Popular Music (BPM) program that are intended to enhance the creative skills of popular musicians. These processes are largely a reflection of learning practices that are normal in the practice of popular music in the broader community where self-assessment, peer feedback and self-directed study are common. Popu...

Phishing websites continue to successfully exploit user vulnerabilities in household and enterprise settings. Existing anti-phishing tools lack the accuracy and generalizability needed to protect Internet users and organizations from the myriad of attacks encountered daily. Consequently, users often disregard these tools’ warnings. In this study, using a design science approach, we propose a no...
Over the last ten years we have been involved in the development of a formal framework for decision making and reasoning under uncertainty based on "argumentation". The latter provides a way of managing uncertainty which differs from probabilistic inference and is particularly valuable in those many practical situations where uncertainty cannot be quantified. Recently we have been applying argu...
The objective of this project was to develop a guideline for the nursing assessment and management of urinary retention in hospitalised older adults. The guideline was developed from a review of the literature and from consultation with a multidisciplinary expert panel. These experts provided feedback through a structured process known as the Delphi technique. Based on findings from both source...
This study is a needs assessment of ethnic Chinese older adults in Japan. The Delphi method was applied to identify the needs addressed by the focus groups. Maslow’s hierarchy of needs model guided the examination of the community’s political, economic and social environment in satisfying the needs of older community members. The needs were matched with a city’s Health, Welfare, and Long-term C...
Research to date on information technology (IT) adoption has focused primarily on homogeneous single country samples. This study integrates the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) and the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with Hofstede’s (1980, 1983) Masculinity/Femininity (MAS-FEM) work value dimension to focus instead on post adoption attitudes and behaviors among a mixed gender sample of 366 Uni...
The aim of the paper is to compare the general risk of the four most important energy chains (coal, nuclear, gas, hydro). Two different multicriteria decision models, the Analytic Hierarchy Process and the PROMETHEE method have been applied. The chosen risk criteria are: severe accidents, terrorism, environmental and health risks, risk of price changes. The first part of the paper discusses the...
We estimate performance of the conventional and several hybrids of product-type iterative method for solution of realistic electromagnetic problems. Moreover, performance of new coming iteartive methods based on IDR(s) method will be also examined. As a result of total ranking on performance, we will state what iterative method is the most effective through numerical experiments.
