Non-Linear Feedback Shift Registers (NLFSR) are a generalization of Linear Feedback Shift Registers (LFSRs) in which a current state is a nonlinear function of the previous state. The interest in NLFSRs is motivated by their ability to generate pseudo-random sequences which are usually hard to break with existing cryptanalytic methods. However, it is still not known how to construct large n-sta...

This paper presents the design of a lightweight, yet software friendly, block cipher. Most of the lightweight block ciphers are nibbleoriented as the implementation of a 4-bit S-box is much more compact than an 8-bit S-box. This paper uses a novel implementation of multiplicative inverse for 8-bit S-boxes using LFSR requiring only 138 gateequivalent. With this powerful scheme, we design a light...

This paper proposes the Turing stream cipher. Turing offers up to 256-bit key strength, and is designed for extremely efficient software implementation. It combines an LFSR generator based on that of SOBER [21] with a keyed mixing function reminiscent of a block cipher round. Aspects of the block mixer round have been derived from Rijndael [6], Twofish [23], tc24 [24] and SAFER++ [17].

This paper presents a new stream cipher family whose output bits are produced by blocks. We particularly focus on the member of this family producing 128-bit blocks with a 256-bit key. The design is based on a new technique called crossing over which allows to vectorize stream ciphering by using nonlinear shift registers. These algorithms offer a very high cryptographic security and much higher...

In this article, we prove that for all pairs of primitive Pisot or uniform substitutions with the same dominating eigenvalue, there exists a finite set of block maps such that every block map between the corresponding subshifts is an element of this set, up to a shift. This result is proved using a common generalization of block maps and substitutions, which we call dill maps.

1. Introduction This paper proposes beam scan by moving dielectric blocks mechanically in the feed waveguide of single-layer slotted waveguide arrays as shown in Fig.1. Millimeter-wave antennas with beam scan are desired in various systems such as collision-avoidance car radars [1-3]. Electrical scanning is the best but mechanical one is still attractive in terms of cost, efficiency, heat-radia...
