background: the beneficial role of cabergoline as a prophylactic agent to prevent ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome (ohss) among high-risk patients has been demonstrated in previous studies. but data for its role as a treatment for established severe ohss is still limited. we represent the treatment results of high dose oral cabergoline in management of six patients after the syndrome is estab...

UNLABELLED A previously healthy 32-year-old woman developed cyclical mood swings after being prescribed cabergoline for a pituitary microprolactinoma. These mood swings persisted for over 2 years, at which point she developed an acute manic episode with psychotic features and was admitted to a psychiatry unit. Cabergoline was discontinued and replaced with aripiprazole 10 mg/day. Her manic epis...

Female infertility is often associated with deregulation of hormonal networks, and hyperprolactinemia is one of the most common endocrine disorders of the hypothalamic-pituitary axis affecting the reproductive functions. We have shown previously that transgenic female mice overexpressing human chorionic gonadotropin β-subunit (hCGβ+ mice), and producing elevated levels of bioactive LH/hCG, exhi...

We present a case of a 21 year old male patient diagnosed with a 2.2 cm prolactin-secreting adenoma in contact with the optic chiasm. The patient was treated with up to 6mg/week of cabergoline (total cumulative dose 814 mg) and developed mild valvulopathy. Valvulopathy was subsequently reversed after discontinuation of cabergoline therapy.

Patients with invasive giant prolactinoma suffer from a constellation of symptoms including headache, blurred vision, lethargy, and sexual dysfunction. Cabergoline, a potent dopamine agonist, is a known medication prescribed for the treatment of invasive giant prolactinoma. Here, we report a case of invasive giant prolactinoma in a 52-year-old Saudi male with dramatic response to cabergoline tr...

We are presenting a case of cabergoline toxicity in patient with primary infertility; the main cause being high levels prolactin (PRL). The aim was to examine this hyperprolactinemic patient, ability normalize PRL cabergoline, determine effectiveness, assess effect on clinical symptoms, and its management. prospectively studied single who treated levels, but negative impacts were identified by ...

Cabergoline is a synthetic dopamine agonist used to treat Parkinson disease. The drug occasionally induces pleuropulmonary adverse effects, which manifest as pleural thickening or effusion, interstitial pneumonitis, pulmonary infiltrates, or fibrosis. We report a rare case of pleural effusion and severe pulmonary hypertension in a 79-year-old man with Parkinson disease who had been treated with...

Capacity limitations in working memory (WM) necessitate the need to effectively control its contents. Here, we examined the effect of cabergoline, a dopamine D2 receptor agonist, on WM using a continuous report paradigm that allowed us to assess the fidelity with which items are stored. We assessed recall performance under three different gating conditions: remembering only one item, being cued...

OBJECTIVES The authors present a case report that proposes the use of cabergoline treatment in silent ACTH adenoma, an unusual member of the heterogeneous group of the so-called clinically non-functioning pituitary adenomas. DESIGN Following the clinical and radiological improvement of a recurrent silent ACTH adenoma in a 77-year-old patient treated with cabergoline (0.5 mg every 2 days for 2...

Background: Coasting is the most common method used in the prevention of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) acting through vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) reduction. However, the pregnancy rate is reported to fall with coasting when it takes more than three days. Recently lowdose cabergoline, a selective D2 dopamine receptor agonist has been proven to selectively reduce vascular...
