Sulfur hexafluoride (SF₆) gas decomposition results from the energy produced by partial discharge (PD). The detection of SO₂ and H₂S content, as important characteristic components of the decomposition products, is significant in the determination of the insulation level of SF₆ gas and the inside insulation faults of gas-insulated equipment. A number of gas sensors use carbon nanotubes (CNTs). ...
abstract: electrical sensitivity of a boron nitride nanotube (bnnt) was examined toward ethyl acetylene (c4h6) molecule by using density functional theory (dft) calculations at the b3lyp/6-31g (d) level, and it was found that the adsorption energy (ead) of ethyl acetylene the pristine nanotubes is about -1.60kcal/mol. but when nanotube has been doped with si and al atoms, the adsorption energy ...

A novel strategy for designing ultrathin polypyrrole skin-coated carbon nanotube (CNT) nanohybrids is demonstrated by vapor deposition polymerization (VDP). The ultrathin skin technology provides a stable immobilization of the mono-disperse Pd nanoparticles (NPs) on the CP-CNT nanohybrid surface, leading to a high-performance hydrogen gas sensor at room temperature.

An innovative sensor for the detection of nerve agents in the gas phase based on a carbon nanotube field-effect transistor was developed. A high sensitivity to organophosphorus gases was obtained by modifying gold electrodes with specific tailor-made self-assembled monolayers.
The recent development of wireless sensors for structural health monitoring has revealed their strong dependency on portable, limited battery supplies. Unlike current wireless sensors, passive radio frequency identification (RFID) systems based on inductive coupling can wirelessly receive power from a portable reader while transmitting collected data back. In this paper, preliminary results of ...
the adsorption of pyrazolone(hpmsp), calix[4]-arene,cu and cs, on carbon nanotube(cnt) atroom temperature has been investigated using spectroscopy.uv spectroscopy indicated that pyrazolone molecules adsorbed on carbon nanotube at roomtemperature in compared calix[4]- arene molecules adsorbed approximately same.the amount ofpyrazolone(hpmsp) adsorb 3.8. le mol/g and amount calix[4]-arene adsorbe...
In this paper, the uniaxial strain effect on the electronic properties of (6,6) finite armchair carbon nanotube was investigated by using the Green function technique and Landure-Buttiker formula. It was found that, in (6,6) finite carbon nanotube with 3q and 3q+1 length, where q is a certain integer, the current was induced by the application of a suitable tensile strain and compressive stra...
In this study, a high-performance inductively coupled thin film multifunctional sensor for structural monitoring applications is presented. A versatile layer-by-layer self-assembly sensor fabrication technique is employed to encode different sensing mechanisms (e.g. strain and corrosion/pH) within one homogeneous thin film structure. Judicious selection of various polyelectrolyte species, along...
