Cross section fluctuations in nuclear scattering are briefly reviewed in order to show the main important features. Then chaotic scattering is introduced by means of a very simple model. It is shown that chaoticity produces the same kind of irregular fluctuations observed in light heavy–ion collisions. The transition from order to chaos allows a new general framework for a deeper understanding ...

This paper introduces multifractal theory into the research of chaotic channels, and a novel model of chaotic channel is established from nonlinear science standpoint. By studying the relationship between multifractal dimensions and work environments, increments probability distribution, and statistical self-similarity of low power line communication (L-PLC) channel which is a typical chaotic c...

For modeling nonlinear systems we present a new type of Cellular Neural Networks (CNN) with nonlinear weight and output functions defined by tabulated functions. Training algorithms are used to adjust the behaviour of CNN solutions to those of a system represented only by it ́s output values. A few output values of the system reveal to be sufficient to determine the parameters of the CNN. The pr...

This paper shows how the chaotic systems theory can be applied to the modeling of speech signals, whose dynamics is highly complex. We verify that, when using a theory that is able to model nonlinear features, speech signals present a highly nonlinear behavior, which could not be inferred from a linear theory.

The SIP retransmission mechanism can cause SIP network collapse with short term overload. In this paper, we investigate with a fluid modeling approach the chaotic behaviour of the SIP retransmission mechanism in SIP networks. We capture the complex correlation structure in SIP systems through a detailed and novel queuing analysis. To dimension a buffer size which can avoid unnecessary message d...

A nonlinear AR model is derived from the reconstructed dynamics of a signal. The underlying system is assumed to be nonlinear, autonomous, and determinstic. In this formulation, the output error scheme is shown to be more suitable than the equation error scheme in training a network as a NAR model of the signal. A method to incorporate the information of the dynamical invariants in signal model...

We investigate the application of deterministic chaotic maps to model traffic sources in packet based networks, motivated in part by recent measurement studies which indicate the presence of significant statistical features in packet traffic more characteristic of fractal processes than conventional stochastic processes. We outline one approach whereby traffic sources can be modeled by chaotic ...

In this article, we further consider the above system. In particular, we give a sufficient condition under which the above system is Kato chaotic for $eta=0$ and a necessary condition for the above system to be Kato chaotic for $eta=0$. Moreover, it is deduced that for $eta=0$, if $Theta$ is P-chaotic then so is this system, where a continuous map $Theta$ from a compact metric space $Z$ to itse...

the threshold of weak and strong synchronization in a coupled chaotic gaussian map isdemonstrated by using the pyragas’ terminology. however, vieira and lichtenberg have shown that thepyragas’ criteria for weak and strong synchronization cannot be used for all chaotic systems. in this articlewe demonstrated some interesting synchronization behavior of two coupled chaotic systems with some zeroa...

CHAOTIC GENERATORS Thomas Schimming, Marco Gotz, Wolfgang Schwarz Institut f ur Grundlagen der Elektrotechnik und Elektronik, Technische Universitat Dresden, Mommsenstr. 13, 01062 Dresden, Germany e-mail: [email protected] ABSTRACT In this paper the modeling of a signal by a chaotic generator with respect to a speci ed signal statistic will be considered. To accomplish that, the...
