Spectra of identified charged hadrons are measured in pPb collisions with the CMS detector at the LHC at √ s N N = 5.02 TeV. Charged pions, kaons, and protons in the transverse-momentum range p T ≈ 0.1–1.7 GeV/c and laboratory rapidity |y| < 1 are identified via their energy loss in the silicon tracker. The average p T increases with particle mass and the charged multiplicity of the event. The ...

LLE Review, Volume 78 93 Measurements of the charged-particle products of the fusion reactions from an imploding inertial fusion capsule can provide a direct means of characterizing key aspects of the implosion dynamics. Parameters such as the fusion yield, fuel ion temperature, capsule convergence, fuel and shell areal densities, and implosion asymmetry can be inferred by these measurements an...

A fundamental model consisting of charged particles moving in free space exposed to alternating and direct current (ACDC) electromagnetic fields is analyzed. Effects of charged particles initial position and initial velocity to cyclotron resonance frequency are observed. Strong effects are observed revealing that effects of electric and magnetic fields on a charged particle in free space varies...

We analyze the nonrelativistic quantum scattering problem of a charged particle by an Abelian magnetic monopole in the background of a global monopole. In addition to the magnetic and geometric effects, we consider the influence of the electrostatic self-interaction on the charged particle. Moreover, for the specific case where the electrostatic self-interaction becomes attractive, charged part...

In previous work (physics/0004026) was shown, with the help of numerical calculations, that the effective Brown temperature for charged particle is lower than that for particle without charge. Here we derive this result without numerical calculations, integrating the delay equation analytically, as for zero, so for nonzero viscosity. To describe motion of charged Brown particle in so called " e...

The agglomeration phenomenon of the charged smoke particle has been investigated by the electricfluid mechanics and transport theory of external force field and depending on several simplifying assumptions the theoretical expression for the agglomeration rate of the smoke particles has been developed. In a model of electrostatic precipitator the agglomeration mechanism of charged particles has ...

The quantum dynamics of a charged particle in an infinite chain of single-state quantum wells, in tight-binding approximation and under the action of an arbitrary time-dependent external field is investigated. The connection between the Hamiltonian description of this model and the Hamiltonian of a discrete-charge mesoscopic quantum circuit is elucidated. Based on this connection, the persist...

The use of charged particle therapy in cancer treatment is growing rapidly, in large part because the exquisite dose localization of charged particles allows for higher radiation doses to be given to tumor tissue while normal tissues are exposed to lower doses and decreased volumes of normal tissues are irradiated. In addition, charged particles heavier than protons have substantial potential c...
