Carbon monoxide releasing molecules (CORMs) have been recently developed for research and pharmacological purposes. A considerable amount of studies demonstrated a wide spectrum of biological activities for lipophilic CORM-2 (tricarbonyldichlororuthenium (II) dimer). It is generally accepted that the liberated gas provides the specific activities to CORMs, with a little attention paid to any po...
Abstract Effects of different types fertilizers; traditional NPK (1 g plant −1 ), 2, 4, 6 and 8 gm L moringa leaves extract (MLE), 10, 20, 40 60 mL aloe (AL) on vegetative growth, flowering Corms production chemical constituents Freesia refracta . were evaluated during two successive seasons (2020–2021 2021–2022). Treating plants with MLE caused increases in height, number if flowers by 35.2%, ...
The synthesis and photodecomposition behaviour of a family of CO releasing molecules (CORMs) based on [Mn(CO)3bpy] derivatives connected to a semiconductor Quantum Dot (QD) sensitizer is described here. Compared to the non-sensitized complexes, such systems show a 2 to 6-fold increase of the photodecomposition rate upon irradiation with visible light.
The application of gaseous signaling molecules like NO, H2S or CO to overcome the multidrug resistance in cancer treatment has proven be a viable therapeutic strategy. development CO-releasing (CORMs) controlled manner and targeted tissues remains challenge medicinal chemistry. In this paper, we describe design, synthesis chemical enzymatic stability novel non-metal CORM (1) able release intrac...
Crop sanitation (removal and chopping of residue corms and pseudostems following plant harvest) has been recommended as a ‘best bet’ means of reducing banana weevil, Cosmopolites sordidus (Germar) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), populations. However, it has been unclear when such practices should be carried out and what types of residues should be destroyed. Therefore, trials were conducted in Uga...
ABSTRACT Ceratocystis fimbriata is a complex of many cryptic, host-specialized species that causes wilt and canker of woody species and rot diseases of storage roots and corms of many economically important plants worldwide. With the exception of the family Araceae, all confirmed hosts of C. fimbriata are dicotyledonous plants. We hypothesized that the isolates from members of the family Aracea...
Among all environmental factors, the temperature is considered one of key elements that control growth and development saffron. This study was undertaken to investigate effect thermal forcing corms on saffron development. To this end, mother were collected at four different periods: late March (T2) , mid-April (T3) April (T4), after leaf senescence (Control, T1) . The each period then pretreate...
studies on crop improvement of saffron (crocus sativus l.) can play an important role in development of this native crop. in this context, an experiment was conducted at agricultural research station, ferdowsi university of mashhad, iran, as a factorial based on randomized complete block design with three replications, during 2005-2010 years. first studied factor was planting pattern of saffron...
