This paper presents a new attack called Decimation Attack of most stream ciphers. It exploits the property that multiple clocking (or equivalently d-th decimation) of a LFSR can simulate the behavior of many other LFSRs of possible shorter length. It yields then signiicant improvements of all the previous known correlation and fast correlation attacks. A new criterion on the length of the polyn...

We study the computation of the static quark potential under decimations in the Monte Carlo Renormalization Group (MCRG). Employing a multi-representation plaquette action, we find that fine-tuning the decimation prescription so that the MCRG equilibrium self-consistency condition is satisfied produces dramatic improvement at large distances. In particular, lattice coarsening (change of effecti...

Abstract Recently, significant efforts in medical imaging are towards the exploitation of disordered media as optics tools. Among several approaches, transmission matrix description is promising for characterizing complex structures and, currently, has enabled and focusing through disorder. In present work, we report a statistical mechanics problem. We convert linear input–output recovery into ...

An approach for eliminating unnecessary portions of a volume when producing a direct volume rendering is described. This reduction in volume size sacrifices some image quality in the interest of rendering speed. Since volume visualization is often used as an exploratory visualization technique, it is important to reduce rendering times, so the user can effectively explore the volume. The method...

This paper addresses on two different architectures of digital decimation filter design of a multi-standard RF transceivers. Instead of using single stage decimation filter network, the filters are implemented in multiple stages using FPGA to optimize the area and power. The proposed decimation filter architectures reflect the considerable reduction in area & power consumption without degradati...

In this paper we discuss the design and implementation of a novel class of high-speed wave digital filter structures for interpolation and decimation. Four different structures were compared with respect to chiparea, power consumption and speed. The best of these structures was combined into an interpolation and decimation filter and have been implemented using redundant arithmetic and standard...

It has been shown in literature that the coefficient decimation (CD) techniques can be efficiently used to realize low complexity finite impulse response (FIR) filters with flexible frequency responses. In this paper, we propose a novel filter bank (FB) design technique based on the combination of the conventional coefficient decimation method (CDM) and the modified coefficient decimation metho...

An adaptive low-complexity space-time reduced-rank processor is proposed for interference suppression in asynchronous DS code division multiple access (CDMA) systems based on a diversity-combined decimation and interpolation method. The novel design approach for the processor employs an iterative procedure to jointly optimise the interpolation, decimation and estimation tasks for reduced-rank p...

In this note we study the convergence of the survey decimation algorithm. An analytic formula for the reduction of the complexity during the decimation is derived. The limit of the converge of the algorithm are estimated in the random case: interesting phenomena appear near the boundary of convergence.
