We present simulation results on the equilibrium relaxation of Brownian planar rotors based on a uniformly frustrated XY model on a square lattice. The rotational relaxation exhibits typical dynamic features of fragile supercooled liquids including the two-step relaxation. We observe a dynamic crossover from the high-temperature regime with Arrhenius behavior to the low-temperature regime with ...
Glass-like materials are nonequilibrium systems where the relaxation time may exceed reasonable time scales of observations. In the present paper a dynamic percolation model is introduced in order to explain the principal properties of glass-like materials near the dynamic transition. Here, contrary to conventional percolation problems, clusters are groups of particles dynamically correlated. I...
Quadrupolar coupling constants of 170 kHz result from reduced motional averaging in biological polymers. The decay rates of Zeeman and quadrupolar order are direct measures of the spectral densities of motion. Information on the orientation-dependence of relaxation rates of Zeeman and quadrupolar order, Tlz and Tlq respectively, assists in understanding the dynamics of molecules. Sensitivity an...
A simulation is reliable when the simulation time is much longer than the relaxation time of the quantities in question. The aim of this work is to address the question when Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulation is reliable and how it depends on the integration algorithms and optimal time step. There were certain problems related to the choice of integration algorithms on Molecular Dynamics simula...
In this paper, we address the rate control problem for layered multicast sessions, with the objective of solving a generalized throughput/fairness objective. Our approach is based on a combination of Lagrangian relaxation and dynamic programming. Unlike previously proposed dual-based approaches, the algorithm presented in this paper scales well as the number of multicast sessions in the network...
We study thermal relaxation in ordered arrays of coupled nonlinear elements with external driving. We find that our model exhibits dynamic self-organization manifested in a universal stretched-exponential form of relaxation. We identify two types of self-organization, cooperative and anticooperative, which lead to fast and slow relaxation, respectively. We give a qualitative explanation for the...
In this paper, we address the rate control problem for layered multicast sessions, with the objective of solving a generalized throughput/fairness objective. Our approach is based on a combination of lagrangian relaxation and dynamic programming. Unlike previously proposed dual-based approaches, the algorithm presented in this paper scales well as the number of multicast groups in the network i...
With large-scale Monte Carlo simulations, we confirm that for the two-dimensional XY model, there is a logarithmic correction to scaling in the dynamic relaxation starting from a completely disordered state, while only an inverse power law correction in the case of starting from an ordered state. The dynamic exponent z is z = 2.04(1).
The convergency of iterative processes can exhibit unexpected behaviours. In this paper an analysis of the convergency of the iterative processes is made through the application of the Newton method to the polynomial equations resolution. This leads to the deenition of a dynamic relaxation scheme applied to computer graphics
