Automatic analysis of electroencephalograms (EEGs) is one of the promising areas of research, which results can be used, in particular, to build systems of mental control of objects. The Dynamic Time Warping procedure (DTW) is used in this work for comparing signals representing EEG. An important feature of the problem we are considering is the need for multiple comparison of signals at the sta...

Electroencephalography is a sensitive indicator for measuring brain condition, and can reflect early changes in brain function and severity of cerebral ischemia. However, it is not yet known whether electroencephalography can predict development of post-cerebral infarction depression. A total of 321 patients with ischemic stroke underwent electroencephalography and Hamilton Depression Rating Sc...

Background: Developmental delay is one of the most common problems of children referred to pediatric neurology clinics. While there are reports on rehabilitation and its effects, limited studies are available to delineate pharmacotherapy of such children. Because many children with developmental delay have abnormal findings in electroencephalography, we aimed to treat a group of these children,...

A power spectrum density (PSD) analysis was performed on electroencephalograms (EEG) of sleeping epileptic El mice and non-epileptic ddY mice. A respiratory peak at 3.13 Hz was detected in the EEGs of both categories. The PSD analysis revealed a peak at 8.59 Hz in the El mice, which was associated with interictal discharges. This peak may be helpful in diagnosing epilepsy.

In a prospective study, 283 children who presented with a first unprovoked seizure were followed for a mean of 30 months from the time of first seizure. Subsequent seizures were experienced by 101 children (36%). The cumulative risk of seizure recurrence for the entire study group was 26% at 12 months, 36% at 24 months, 40% at 36 months, and 42% at 48 months. The cumulative risk of recurrence i...
