background and objectives: fine needle aspiration cytology (fnac) is an established out- patient procedure used in primary diagnosis of palpable thyroid lesions. a modified technique fine needle capillary sampling (fncs) obviates the need of suction, is less painful, patient friendly and reported to overcome the problem of inadequate and bloody specimens. the aim of our study was to compare the...

Pediatric tumors differ markedly from adult tumors in their nature, distribution, and prognosis. In this 10-year retrospective study, we present our experience with fine-needle aspiration (FNA) in pediatric patients 18 years of age and younger and correlate relationship between gender with organ, diagnosis, malignancy, and age. In our study, FNA material of pediatric tumors or masses with 18 ye...

It is widely believed that a quantum field fluctuation in an inflating background creates the primeval seed perturbation which through subsequent evolution leads to the observed large-scale structure of the universe. The standard inflationary scenario produces a scale-invariant power spectrum quite generically but it produces, unless fine tuned, too large an amplitude for the primordial density...

Using an extended Lewenstein model under single-active electron (SAE) and linear combination of atomic orbital approximations, we perform a theoretical investigation of the high harmonic generation (HHG) spectrum of diatomic molecular systems in intense short-pulse laser fields. The wavelet transform and Wigner distribution, two complementary time-frequency methods, are extended for the explora...

In this work, we investigate the fine regularity of Lévy processes using the 2-microlocal formalism. This framework allows us to refine the multifractal spectrum determined by Jaffard and, in addition, study the oscillating singularities of Lévy processes. The fractal structure of the latter is proved to be more complex than the classic multifractal spectrum and is determined in the case of alp...

A generalization of the Gell-Mann–Low theorem is applied to the antimuon-electron system. The bound state spectrum is extracted numerically. As a result, fine and hyperfine structure are reproduced correctly near the nonrelativistic limit (and for arbitrary masses). We compare the spectrum for the relativistic value α = 0.3 with corresponding calculations in light-front quantization.

We report on our results from a fully relativistic simulation of the quenched bottomonium spectrum. Using an anisotropic formulation of Lattice QCD, we were able to retain a very fine resolution into the temporal direction for a range of different lattice spacings. At fixed renormalized anisotropy we study the scaling properties of the spectrum and compare our results with non-relativistic calc...
