This paper introduces a new approximate inference algorithm for credal networks. The algorithm consists of two major steps. It starts by representing the credal network as a compiled logical theory. The resulting graphical structure is the basis on which the subsequent steepest-ascent hill-climbing algorithm operates. The output of the algorithm is an inner approximation of the exact lower and ...

this thesis is going to delineate the concept of the reader as implied in 18th century literary theory; based on the study of the major reader oriented elements of criticism of the age-taste, the sublime, and aesthetic pleasure-its aim is to explain what sott of reader is implied and what kind of response on the part of the reader is proposed in 18th century english literary theory and aestheti...

The absence of the point spectrum for some nonselfadjoint integrodifferential operators is investigated by applying perturbation theory methods. The considered differential operators could be of any order and are assumed to act in Lp(R+) or Lp(R) (1 ≤ p < ∞). Finally, as an application of general results, some spectral properties of the perturbed Hill operator are derived.

We discuss periodic compactification and latticization of a 5-D U(1) theory with a Dirac fermion, yielding a 1 + 3 effective theory. We address subtleties in the lattice fermionic action, such as fermion doubling and the Wilson term. We compute the Coleman-Weinberg potential for the Wilson line which is finite for N -branes ≥ 3, due to the ZN symmetry, which replaces translations in the 5th dim...

HILL Entropy and Metric Entropy are generalizations of the information-theoretic notion of min-entropy to the realistic setting where adversaries are computationally bounded. The notion of HILL Entropy appeared in the breakthrough construction of a PRG from any one-way function (H̊astad et al.), and has become the most important and most widely used variant of computational entropy. In turn, Met...

The frequency chirping of chorus waves is commonly observed in the Earth’s inner magnetosphere, but its generation remains an open question. Recently, Liu et al. (2021), https://doi.org/10.1029/2021JA029258 reported two unusual rising-tone (upward chirping) elements. Although central constituent subpackets rises, a single subpacket surprisingly downward chirping. With gcPIC- simulation dipole f...

This paper presents a convergence analysis for the problem of consistent labelling using genetic search. The work builds on a recent empirical study of graph matching where we showed that a Bayesian consistency measure could be e$ciently optimised using a hybrid genetic search procedure which incorporated a hill-climbing step. In the present study we return to the algorithm and provide some the...
